It may be a little known fact, but Parker Westridge, or "Eagle," or, "Eags," the lead designer and founder of Eag's Ship Shop, is a member of the explorers' group, Constellation. Yes Constellation *still* exists! And is currently thriving!
Knowing Eag's heavy starship design involvement, Sarah Morgan, the Constellation Director, asked him personally if he'd design the group a brand new starship. Their Nova Galactic Discovery-Class starship, the "Frontier," was quite rugged and in well working order, albeit old. But with the Constellation group's growing numbers and their want to coordinate more organized and larger planetary expeditions, the need for one massive upgrade arose.
Eags of course took Ms. Morgan up on this offer. And Walter Stroud, the self-appointed Chief Financier of Constellation, agreed to fund the project under one condition: The ship must have at least some genuine Stroud-Eklund parts attached...when Eags first delivered the finalized vessel to Constellation (Named the "Frontier II") at the New Atlantis Spaceport, you should have seen that ear-to-ear grin on Walter's face as he watched the ship touch down with the Stroud-Eklund logo splattered all over the hull plating...
With the starship design mind of Eags, and the bottomless wallet of Mr. Walter Stroud, the Constellation Ark-Class Expedition Cruiser was born.
This behemoth was designed to stay out in the 'Field for weeks if need be, and to be mostly self-sufficient. It has facilities including but not limited to; a massive cargo hall, a double armory setup used as an outfitting room for planetary surface jaunts, a science lab equipped with a GRAV drive viewing port, an operations centre, a sickbay, and more! It's even equipped with state-of-the-art particle weaponry should it be interdicted by outlaws. Don't mistake this ship for a combat vessel however: It can certainly handle itself in a battle, however it's primary task is exploration.
The Ark is huge and loaded with much excess mass from the necessary cargo and personnel facilities. As a result, the Ark's mobility rating is quite low, 24 to be exact. As mentioned above, however, this ship was not built for battle- it was built to support an expedition team. So if you're in the market for a new vessel to support your next big (non-combat) adventure, then look no further.
The Ark-Class is not limited as a Constellation exclusive. This design is available for anyone to purchase! So please contact an Eag's Ship Shop rep today, and let's get you set up to take a tour!
We'll see you in the 'Field, Captain!
