I double checked to see if it was a feature of the mod, doesn't seem to be, and I didn't think any of the modifications I made to my Beowulf did it as I also checked those.

Any reason why the magazine cover would become pitch black?

Not sure. You can try the All-in-one version and see if you get the same problem.

Had a hunch and it turned out to be right. The mod Clean Reflex Sight Lenses conflicts with this mod, specifically the option that reduces glare in the lenses as opposed to making them fully transparent. I imagine the other option would conflict as well but I haven't tried.

This skin is too cool to pass up on so I just disabled the other mod and now it appears as it should.

Edit: I tried the version of the Clean Reflex Sight Lenses mod that completely removes tint and glare and it works fine with this mod.

Were you on the latest version (V1.6) of that mod? I don't know how that mod worked in the previous version, but it looks like it was recently updated to edit the material files directly. This method should be compatible with my mod (in theory, but God Todd works in mysterious ways). You can try the alt version of that mod again and see if the issue recurs. But if you are happy with the current set-up, then probably don't stir things up again.

Yes, I was on the latest version of that mod when I originally downloaded it. The "no glare" option works fine, but the "alt" version of that mod causes the conflict.

I did try the mod again with a clean install using the "alt" version, still had issues. I'm happy with how everything is now anyway so it works out just fine.

I was wondering if you had any insights on a part of the textures for the Beowulf: Between the one I had made and yours, I've noticed the same issue where the netal frame (which says lightweight assualt rifle) tends to end up ridiculously dark in a lot of lighting environments. Have you been able to figure how to make it more like the Grendel's equivalent piece, where it blends better with the overall weapon?

It's how the roughness and metal are set up in the vanilla files. If you darken the metal area even slightly, the output is exponential. I leaned onto the darker frames so it didn't bother me, and that's why I also recreated the Grendel despite the availability of the Buzzcut skin. However, if I'm redoing this again for a lighter tone, I'll first make the colour.dds monochrome to remove the yellow, then selectively darken the white plastic parts; pre-made plastic masks are in the folder. Depending on your workflow, you can do this in the Material editor by adjusting the albedo in the plastic layer and blending them or using a third-party program. If there are areas that you want to recolour but are not included in the plastic mask, you can invert the metal mask and use it to prevent alteration to the metal bits.

Hmm, I guess I'll keep playing around with this then. I inverted both the metal and the plastic masks with no notable impact to that section. When in the material editor, that section doesn't react like the rest for some reason. I managed to brute force it though and made all the receiver into a plastic mask, so I'm content for now I guess. Definitely gotta mess with this some more to fine tune, but thanks for the help!

Really like these retexture mods! Dissapointing that Bethesda/Microsoft didn't care to add any spacesuit or weapon skins in the workbench in Starfield, which why bother having skins as an option in the workbench if there basically are NONE! Anyways, thank you for the retextures and take care now!

It is aggravating that Bethesda made several weapon skins but posted them for free on Creations instead of providing them as a game update for everyone. I understand it was a marketing effort to promote Creations and introduce people to mods from their website, but it is just a bad look when the base game lacks the basic features.

Will you release an AIO later? If not, I will probably merge them myself at some point. I know Starfield technically doesn't need it considering the very high esm limit, I just prefer it for organization reasons. <3

If you could please indulge me, why is an .esm necessary with the replacer version of this mod?

The Beowulf has a yellow transparent magazine cover without a DDS file, which is why all the retextures on Nexus have a yellow magazine. You'll need to reassign the material file at the NIF file level or, in my case, assign the material file path in CK via layered material swap (hence the ESM).

Hello! Would it be possible to have a version with a darker magazine? I find that the very light grey color is pretty jarring when compared to the new color scheme. (this would apply to the Grendel whenever you get around to that one)

No. The ammo count display is on the magazine. If it's too dark, you won't be able to see it.

Please please combine all these into one Omod package with options to leave out the skins you don't want on installation, please! also if you don't plan to would you allow another to do it?

    I love Your skins!

what is the quality scale on these if you don’t mind my asking? Also would you consider seeing if you could use Luxor’s Beowulf retexture and making it black if it’s a higher quality?

The DDS files have the same resolution as the base game (between 1024x1024 to 2048x2048), but Starfield has a new layered material system that renders additional details depending on the viewing distance. The LODs for weapons and clothing are set as "High" by default. You can see this in action by zooming in on the individual fibres of the vanilla clothing or the CombaTech Logo of the weapons in photo mode. I don't think going 4K or 8K will add any appreciable difference in normal gameplay.

I just realised I left out the Solstice. I shall work on that. Another one soon.
