Updating from 1.7 to 1.8 should be safe and doesn't require removing placed habs. I did extensive testing before uploading and my outpost worked fine.
Outpost Habs Expanded - Color Variations 1.7a is compatible with the main file 1.8 version!
In 1.8 I did a navmesh pass to see if the new method works better in getting companions and crew to properly walk and use the hab spaces. So far in my testing this seemed to work better than the old vanilla method, please let me know how it goes for you. Additionally in 1.8 I adjusted the foundations for all habs added by this mod to reduce the obstructed furniture issue some people are getting. During my testing I also noticed placing habs with a higher foundation often helps to reduce these issues as well.
If you're updating to 1.5 please remove all placed habs before doing so! I am not sure why but updating to 1.5 causes issues in the outpost build mode. If you already updated and encountering these issues, the 1.4 version is available to download in the files section! Make sure to use 1.4 on a save before 1.5 was used. I'm sorry for the trouble this is causing, not sure what went wrong as other updates worked fine before.
i cannot delete the single hab i placed, i instantly crashed. ive also rolled back to 1.4 and 1.3 and still i cant delete the hab so i can switch to 1.8. even tried disabling the mod entirely and it looks like the pic MHOrhan sent. any way to fix this ?
No unfortunately not. If you removed the mod without removing the habs they become permanently broken in that outpost - that's just how the game works.
If you encountered crashing before deleting the mod your outpost likely became corrupted already, which again there isn't a way to properly remove them unfortunately.
After update, this is happened, when i try to structure menu to make new one, game is crashing, do you know why? I emptied the outposts, and when I tried to destroy them, the game crashed. I delete old version, please share old version then i install and clear them all. Can you share it please?
It's because it's too much for them to update the mod. Same thing happened to me. I'm not downloading this again. I spent ages on that base. I'm pissed, and clearly the modder doesn't care as they didn't respond so don't support them.
This issue was already addressed in the pinned comment, and older versions were made available. Doing the 1.5 update, I accidentally converted to the wrong master type, which caused this issue.
I just forgot to answer to this comment, I'm sorry.
I have version 1.8 and let me say I LOVE these habs, but i am still experiencing the navmesh issues. I cannot place any workbenches inside the custom habs and companions cannot enter them, but they are great otherwise. Hope there's a fix somewhere.
I've yet to run into issues placing stuff myself, but the navmesh issues are known. Every couple weeks I come back to this with new navmesh ideas and asking others, but so far unfortunately I've had no luck getting the navmesh to work at all! Really annoying :(
First of all, I want to congratulate you on creating this fantastic mod. The work you've done is truly impressive, and it adds so much value to the game experience. Your dedication to this project is clearly visible in every detail. However, I'm experiencing some issues with the Navigation Mesh, even though I'm using version 1.8. The NavMesh problems persist despite using the latest version. Could you please provide some guidance on how to troubleshoot this issue?
I really love this mod, thank you for taking the time to create it! I didn't really see this question when I was skimming through the other comments (other than the hexagon one), but do you have any plans on making some of the other hab styles as doubles such as concrete and/or Neon?
Once I can finally resolve the navmesh issue I plan on adding more double habs. Right now I don't really want to add more habs until I can solve this issue.
This is likely due to the collision of the wall piece itself. I will take a look at it and see if I can fix that, but it may require editing the model itself.
I installed the mod, no problems, and it came up in Creations. I started building an oupost using the assets, so all was good so far. Then I went and did a mission, came to work on another outpost, and the assets weren't showing up. Went back to Creations and the mods aren't showing up. They are present and active in Mod Organiser, but not appearing in Starfield at all. I reloaded the game, reloaded Mod Organiser etc etc no success. I haven't installed any mods since, am running only a small amount of mods, so I don't understand why it's not working now.
Not sure if other people are having the same issue but none of my crew that I assign to my outpost are able to enter the habs, they can enter the vanilla ones just fine but they refuse to enter the modded ones. When I get them to follow me and I go inside one they go to the nearest exit and get as close to me outside as they can, when I re-enter a vanilla hab they come back inside.
Navmesh is currently not fully working. I am still trying to figure out what the actual issue with the navmesh since I did it the same way it was done for the vanilla habs and it periodically works and then stops working again.
First off, love the design they look great. I have run into some issues. First the Akila habs have alot of issues with ground clearance and connecting to each other. Took about an hour to connect 3 habs together after removing and replacing them. Second the Akila hab and Akila wooden hab don't play nice with each other. Still cannot get them to attach without a hallway. Lastly and most importantly these habs disappear as soon as I leave the planet. I have this mod at the end of my mod list and I only run 30ish mods (mainly weapon and armor retextures) Again I love this mod and would love some feedback if you have any insight to why they dissappear. Thanks
The tiny versions of habs currently have some issues connecting with other habs because their foundation is a bit too large. I didn't initially catch that in my testing because I forgot to remove some ini settings that allowed overlapping, but I'll fix those soon!

I am still trying to get this to work every few weeks with new things to try, but I have not found out how to get NavMesh working in these habs.
If mods getting removed from the game the issue seems to be with your MO2 setup or some bug in the game itself when using the Creations menu.
