IF YOU EVER INSTALLED THIS WITH VORTEX, PLEASE REINSTALL IT MANUALLY, VORTEX PUT THE MOD IN THE WRONG PLACE!!!!

REMEMBER: To enable this mod after installation, you must at least once switch back and forth between quality modes in your game settings :)
This is obviously a pretty simple mod (ini preset tweak after all), but it provides somewhat significant performance gains which I feel are extremely useful within this game... After all... many people struggle even getting 60fps :(

Updates: V1.2 (V1.4 Low) - For all versions released!!! Now slightly more performance with VRS enabled!!! (3-5%) Also added benchmark charts and imgsli for all versions!
V1.1 Ultra is released, now less CPU heavy (and up to 15-20% gpu gains!) V1.1 Medium is released, gains another 10%+ fps on top of medium! V1.3 Low (Potato mode) is released, should finally stop crashing constantly darn V1.1 High is released, I tried really hard to make it as good as possible so its may not get you that much diff depending on place

I've had multiple people ask this: "Can I change settings when using one of your presets'
The answer is of course yes, but iirc you have to change back to the preset for it to re-load the settings if you'd like to go back. (I myself use the ultra preset with no upscaling for better performance at native)
After about 140k unique downloads from people I finally understand why it doesn't work for so many of you.
Guess what, its because you installed via vortex, and as I install everything manually I did not notice that it was putting the file IN THE WRONG PLACE.
So yeah... It only works if you install it manually
God bless you!!! This literally save my game, I was strugling with 20-25 fps in almost all areas, less in crowded cities like new atlantis, with this mod i am reaching 45-50 fps in almost all areas.
I just can't explain how much better did my experience get just by using this mod
This is f*#@ing amazing. Even though I have quite literally a beast of a computer, it would average around 40-60 FPS on high. With this mod it jumps to 140-170 FPS. Surely there's a way to award you or something man.
I came back to ask if this was still valid in light of the new settings added/subtracted with the recent updates...
...but also want to help clear up the misinformation being spread around about whether it is okay to install this via Vortex or not. The answer is.. it works perfectly fine when installed via Vortex, because it quite literally deploys exactly where you tell it to deploy...
1) Double-click on any mod to open up right window pane. 2) Find the "Mod Type" field and click the drop-down 3) Tell it what type of mod this is... its really as easy as that.
Here are what the different options from that picklist are and where they deploy to:
1) Data Folder - Steam\steamapps\common\Starfield\Data 2) ASI Mod - Steam\steamapps\common\Starfield\Plugins 3) Collection - Does not deploy 4) Engine Injector - Steam\steamapps\common\Starfield 5) ENB - Steam\steamapps\common\Starfield
I'll also add that when a mod author creates a mod, they can tell it what the default Vortex "Mod Type" should be upon installation. If E3roKK wants to PM, I'll gladly teach him how to do this so he can remove the misleading disclaimers about how not to install this via Vortex or else xyz.
Also, this is 2024... do not install anything manually, ever. It's such a newb way to mod. You can litteraly install absolutely anything via Vortex.. reshades, plugins, textures, dx files, exe's, custom ini files.... literally anything, and I mean anything.
(and I'm guessing MO2 as well, but I've not used it in years, maybe it still has trouble with you telling it where to install stuff?)
Thank you for this. I came here to say the same thing, but you explained it very well. It's frustrating to see so many people trashing Vortex just because they don't know how to use it properly.
This is just not correct. Too many people are having issues with installing via Vortex. Even the mod author mentions to install manually. No matter what you say, it's ALWAYS better to install manually. That way, you KNOW it's installed correctly. While Vortex does have its benefits with mod PACKS in certain games, or installing dozens/hundreds of mods for certain games, when dealing with INDIVIDUAL mods, then it's always better to install manually. Just look a couple posts above this. It is recommended to NOT install via Vortex.
"Too many people are having issues with installing via Vortex. Even the mod author mentions to install manually. No matter what you say, it's ALWAYS better to install manually." Its being recommended to install manually because it is configured for Vortex incorrectly and the mod author is unaware of this. Thats not a case for installing manually. Jeez, its like you didn't read the post you are replying under.

May I ask, what does this actually do in order to improve performance? Does it lower the graphics quality or cut back on npcs etc? Would be good if you explained what this mod actually does to the game to improve performance. Thanks
Don't use this mod. Their idea of 'optimizations' are lowering or straight up removing settings that do visibly impact your game. You'll gain way more FPS by using Frame Gen (or the mod that enables it).
I have a Pentium 2 300mhz, 1 petabyte server with my library, 128 Mb ram and a quad SLI of 4090s. Everything runs smooth ranging from bsod to 9000fps. ;)

If I download the "all in one" can I then keep my customize settings with higher FPS?
You'll gain way more FPS by using Frame Gen (or the mod that enables it).
Monitor samsung G7
Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite
R5 3600x
32gb ddr4
rtx 4090
And i did get good respons from the game before i try your mod !! and holy smokeless , your mod more the dubbel everyting <3
You are the king of bottlenecking.
...........
THIS!
IS!
BOTTLENECKING!
Was able to go from Low settings to Medium settings with same fps.
Running on my ROG Ally Extreme Gen. 1
Being able to run this on Medium settings with FSR3 and Frame gen, at 40-60 FPS is AMAZING.
For ROG Ally owners, I am on 30w and full fans plugged in.
Thank you E3roKK :)
Maybe I did something wrong, but is this how it should be?
