I want to bring to your attention that there is another customization mod called 'Crew and Companion Overhaul' by senterpat available on Nexus Mods.
While my hair mods focuses on enhancing companion hairstyles, 'Crew and Companion Overhaul' offers extensive customization options for companions, including complexion adjustments. For those seeking comprehensive customization beyond hairstyles, I highly recommend checking it out.
Before developing my series of hair replacement mods, I was obviously not aware of the existence of this mod. Given its comprehensiveness, I think it's fair to direct you to it, and I hope that it will fulfill your needs.

The 'Hair Replacer/Customizer' series remains available but I do not plan to continue updates (unless you request it, of course).
That's why, if you have specific reasons for wanting me to continue its development—such as if 'Crew and Companion Overhaul' doesn't meet your needs and you prefer straightforward hair and cosmetic modifications without additional scripting—please let me know.
Thank you for your understanding, and happy gaming! o7
Andreja's appearance reset to Vanilla after dismissing back to the Lodge. Is there a way to revert this other than recycleactor (which causes my game to hard lock for some reason)? Thanks!
Not at the moment but good idea. In fact, that's pretty easy to do, if you want to create a "preset", meaning a full rework of an NPC's look :
- Use the Starfield Creation Kit; - Load the Starfield.esm master file (using the folder icon on the upper left corner); - Wait for everything to load (be patient it takes a couple of minutes); - In the object window, look for "Actors/Actor/Actor/HumanRace/Male or Female (HumanRace is if you search for a human of course) - Next look for your NPC, like "Companion_Andreja", double click on it; - Do your edits (Face Customization tab is probably the one you're looking for) - you even have a live preview for everything you modify; - Next click on "OK" (bottom left); - Click on the "Save" button (upper left), this way it will create an .esp file that you would use if you want to modify your preset in the future; - Now click on File -> Convert Active File to -> Small Master (sufficient if you only edit npc's specs); - Install this .esm file using a mod manager like Vortex (you can for example put the .esm into a .zip file and install it as usual with Vortex); - Enjoy!
Hope this helps! Please reach out if you have any questions! ;) o7
So what is the difference between this mod and the mod which lets you enhance any companion? https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/8878 . Is it better or does have an advantages ?
Hi there! It turns out that you have just pointed out something I didn't know: there is already a mod that allows you to modify all the complexion options of a companion! So I'll be honest with you, 'Crew and Companion Overhaul' by senterpat is much more comprehensive, and I'm probably going to use it from now on. The fact is, I'm not even sure of the relevance of the mods I've created anymore, lol. At least, I don't think it makes sense to develop them further since a much more complete mod already exists! So I think I'll modify the descriptions of my four 'hair replacer' mods, as soon as I have time, to direct everyone to senterpat's mod. That way, those who didn't know about this mod can finally benefit from complete customization of companions! In any case, thank you for informing me about the existence of this mod. Thank you as a modder, because it clearly doesn't seem honest, especially towards all of you, to develop a mod that is, in quotes, 'obsolete' or rather 'outdated.' But thank you also as a player, because I was indeed the first to want a mod allowing total customization of companions (which is precisely why I started developing these mods). Happy gaming! o7
♥ You're welcome!! Your support and feedback are what make it all worthwhile :) If you have any suggestions or run into any issues, just let me know. Happy gaming! o7
Well, that's a good idea, but it's not quite possible with this mod. However, you can simply rerun the installer to change their appearance after going through Unity. But I understand that you lose the 'random' aspect (or maybe just click on a random hairstyle and color 😜).
This mod allows you to replace Sarah's hair with one of the 22 hairstyles and one of the 23 colors currently available (+ 4K or 2K Face Textures included). The Mod comes with a FOMOD installer ready for installation on Vortex (all-in-one file).
Because, for now, the mod only includes most of the default hairstyles from the game, but I hope to expand the possibilities by adding additional hairstyles later ;)
