problem all movement adjustment mods have, the character starts moving at regular speed then the adjusted speed kicks in, it's annoying

We don't yet have any animation tools to do anything about this, although it does give a 'weighty' feel to the character

This mod doesn't change anything for me. The walking is the same. Am I doing something wrong? I have starfield premium etidion microsoft store version. I copied the mod to X:\XboxGames\Starfield\Content\Data

I've apparently been living like a dinosaur. It was the best we had at the time but I upgraded from the "Let's Walk Together - Movement Speed Overhaul" after 2 year of heavy use to this and I'm very glad I did. The hotkey management was tedious especially in fast paced combat like melee.

No more managing with yours and you added sneak and block speed adjustments!

    Endorsed. Thank you.

Installed as of the date of this comment, so far seems great and without issue. Thank you for sharing it.

Week later edit: Other things that increase movement speed will potentially push the player into 'slow jog animation' walking speed territory. So it's up to the individual to decide if they want the QOL/convenience here & x% Movement Speed buffs conflicting, or Vanilla.

Personally, I think I prefer all the QOL adjustments here. I really like the adjustments made from this mod. They're such qualities of life that they feel mandatory.

Yeah I've heard issues regarding speed mod stuff interfering, I wish there was a way to remove the run animation altogether. but we won't find out until we get official animation tools.

Glad you're enjoying the mod! Thanks!

Any reason why the running animation would return in variant universes? I am pretty sure the walk animation is still the same speed, but it seems like the run animation has returned to normal speed once I jumped through Unity. I have the mod "choose alternate universe" enabled and chose to do the "Kids" universe. But... now the "jog" animation is gone and my character is back to running at normal speed. I hate it so much. Your mod is a must have by this point! HA!

Not sure if you can help pinpoint the issue or not. Happy to provide more info. I have about 80 other mods installed, but none that should affect speed (other than environmental seal, but I don't even have that equipped.) I have also messed around with load order, and uninstalling/reinstalling your mod.

    Any ideas?

Hey! Sorry for the delayed reply, real life calls haha

I'm guessing it's a mod conflict going on which is why it's returning, try putting my mod as late as possible in your load order and see if that solves it, if not, type 'Player.setav speedmult 100' in the console and see if that returns your speed to what the mod intends!

No worries at all. I completely understand. I just got back from traveling.

Tried the load order, and still had the issue. Then I tried Player.setav speedmult 100 and it still didn't fix my issue... No clue why. Must be another mod I have installed. Thanks for the advice! Hopefully I can figure out what mod is causing the conflict eventually.

My only other suggestion is to go through the unity, maybe you have some kind of weird status effect going on which is maybe bugging out your character!

Hopefully it gets sorted! I understand the frustration with having issues you can't seem to solve

Ah, its no big deal. I am sure it will work itself out once I go through unity again. It has progressively gotten worse however... now my character, when in walking mode, will start with a sprint, then it will adjust to a slo-mo jog animation... If I set the speed via console commands to 90, that seems to at least bring the walking animation back. So odd! No clue what is causing this.

Ya lo he solucionado, si ayuda a alguien simplemente poner en la consola Player.setav speedmult 100 y jugar con ese número, 80, 90 etc y todos los problemas se corregirán

      - "I have already solved it, if it helps anyone just put Player.setav speedmult 100 in the console and play with that number, 80, 90 etc and all problems will be corrected"

Is what this says for anyone having issues with speed.

      Gracias por la información :)

Okay... I am todays years old when I figured out my issue. It was in fact another mod. I have the mod "Better Bad Skills" installed, and did not realize that the Fitness perk makes you run and sprint 5% faster. I used console commands to remove that perk, and boom! Got the run/walk speed back. WOO! Thanks for the help! Still love this mod so much.

Oh thank goodness i came to the comments. Can you tell me what the console command for that is?

EDIT: im a dork. it's a vanilla perk. for anyone else, the console command is player.removeperk 002ce2dd

This mod was working fine for me up until a couple of days ago, when suddenly my controller left stick became unable to initiate walk. I use to have a fairly decent sweet spot, but thats gone now. I can walk a couple of steps and then it goes into slow motion jog. There's just no walking possible now. Does anyone have any ideas on what might be causing this?

EDIT: I found out its my speedmult. I think default is 100 and it ranges from 50 to 150. Somehow mine was set to 110 and that was screwing up the sensitivity or something. I set it back to 100 using player.modav speedmult x where x got it back to 100.

I'm glad you solved it! My first bit of advice is usually to set the default speedmult back to 100, glad to see it worked in this case and it was an easy fix for you. Enjoy!

Excellent mod. The movement feelings are much better.

I wonder why you only increase the walking speed to 33%, though : other walk mods usually go above, up to 49%, for the ones I saw here (seems to be the animation bug limit). I find the walk speed in yours is a little too slow.

Great job, anyway, thx for sharing.

      Glad you're enjoying it! :)

Weird you say that, because I always found the speed in other mods to be too fast, haha!
33% felt like a nice sweet spot for me, it doesn't make the unholstered walk look weird either!

      Thank you!

For... let's say "roleplay", I use walking mode very often, as i would IRL : running only when needed.

But, because of game design I guess, I feel "slow" when I'm walking, specially in 1st person. I found some mods that increase the walk speed  slightly more than yours, but... well : yours is better overall :)

      thx for the answer

Yeah I get you! I do the same in Skyrim, I can't do it in Starfield though, the cities are FAR too large to be walking around haha! But I understand the immersion it gives you

      Hi !

I'm coming back here just to say : I'd really like to walk a little speeder (when i'm joining some NPC for quests, they walk a little faster than me), but I don't really know how to edit your esm... is there any chance you make an alternate version of your mod with a slightly increased walk speed ?

Since it seems i'm the only one with that request, i'd understand if you gave it up ^^

Just wanted to add, I too would like to see a Walk Speed 49% version. My reason isn't to necessarily roleplay or take my time from point A to B...it's only to match the typical NPC walk speed on missions. There was another mod that did 49% walk speed, which was perfect for matching NPC speed on missions, but left in the fast jog speed, making it hard to control overall.

BTW, out of all the player speed mods out there, this one definitely feels the most natural. Great job!

The mod would greatly benefit from being able to adjust the values with sliders in the Gameplay Options menu, I hope you can achieve that.

      Thank you so much !

Endorsed, kudo, like, and all that jazz !

      You're the best ;)

Edit : haaaaa, noooo ! I got the animation bug (when walking, my character looks like he's jogging in slow-motion...) ! :-(
49% seems to be too high. It's weird, because I before used another mod ( https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/10689 ), which claim to be at 49%, without bug...

Just thought I'd chime in as I have been obsessing over player speed in 3rd person since launch. The absolute max speed you can achieve in 3rd person is 37.5% (maybe 37.9%). Any more than that will cause the animation to bug out.

A file set to 37.5 would be great 👍

Ok after all that fiddling, I've finally uploaded a proper version, it's only 4.5% faster than the standard file, but that's pretty much as fast as it goes without the slow-mo bug!

      Enjoy!

Disregard, apparently 49% is too high and gives you the slow-mo jogging animation. I'm gonna play with some values and see what works the best, for now just use the main file!

    Hi samuel181093.
While out of scope of the mod, but mentioning since it's related due to movement speed, and is an overall PITA for a lot of people, is a change to certain NPC walk speeds which would be a great partner for this. Any time you need to follow a walking NPC is a dice roll of frustration as some of them can walk way faster than even the fastest player walk speed (speeds that don't trigger the jog animation).

I think the only fix that should be somewhat universal is having a script get the current player walk speed at the point in the quest where the follow is about to begin (quest stage would be close enough), then setting the max walk speed of those NPCs to the same value as the players. This would account for any changes to player skills or perks as well as mod changes affecting walk speed.

Like I said out of scope, but felt the need to brain dump after seeing how nicely done this mod is.

I've used other movement mods in the past but this blows them all away.
Its so much more realistic & immersive to just jog!
Is there any way to remove/adjust the sketchy 45degree sprint lean that the character bursts into just before he calms down and starts to jog?
    Thanks

Thanks so much! I appreciate it :)

I could remove the animation altogether but it would then take away the whole weighted feel of movement, unfortunately I can't edit any animations yet as we don't have the tools to do so. But I will once we get it available!
