I have decided to keep an up to date development log here on Nexus, so everyone knows status of their favorite features and wishlist items.

NEW! New building type pieces! I have wall, wall with window, wall with door opening (snaps to airlocks again), corner-in - all working as of tonight! Many more pieces of this type available, but I need time to comb through it all and see what's most useful. Corner-out and a large window added for same building type as well.
NEW! Walkway/hallway connection between vanilla hubs and my custom walls with small opening is now possible! So you can finally connect vanilla and BASE buildings into one big whole! Will try to tweak this further and enable more connections. Btw, this also works between 2 custom walls!
NEW! Added ability to connect vanilla hubs directly to my custom walls with small openings and walls with midsize openings. There's a little inconsistency in vanilla game so eg hydroponic vanilla hubs should use small exits, and industrial would use medium size. Unsure if Bethesda will fix that, so I will probably NOT fix it with overrides.
NEW! Completely new item - XXL landing pad! Was requested by another modder for his large ships :) it's 100 meters wide (well, 94m), is made out of 4 small landing pads connected but made to look as one big pad, uses my own pillars as foundations (2-click build), snaps to my own concrete foundations, or can be build on top of my foundations (doesn't use it's own pillars then). I've also added max height of 65, and allowed building on top of the pad. Oh! And you can snap tiny stairs to it's staircase when on my foundations or snap other catwalks to it. Ships land fine. Only thing lacking is - no ship builder terminal - sorry!
NEW! Variant of hydroponic pieces, all 28, with outer glass replaced with blue glass with interesting patterns. Will be available as new building list. Includes hallway that has same connector abilities as described above (vanilla-to-custom, etc).
NEW! Copy of vanilla hubs, hallways, landing pads, watchtower, etc with - extended build height (vanilla 5-20, now 65), smaller snap radius (was 4-6, now 0.5), removed limitation to build other items on top, allowed stacking on other items (partially), snapping and stacking on my foundations and with my walls.
CONSIDERING: Adding another staircase, one from vanilla double hub.
Note: due to holidays this release had been delayed. I would still like a day or two with it, but with another few days of weekend + New Year coming, then a buys week, I've decided to push it to public anyway. Everything should work fine, but I wanted to add proper icons, which I don't have time to add today. These will be added in next release. Also, note that with a lot of holidays still in first week of January next release will either be smaller, or will be slightly delayed again. I will aim to release update before Jan 12th 2024.

Navmesh done for 6 "out corners"
Better navmesh done for 4 large foundations, now covers whole foundations space and NPCs will run freely across multiple snapped foundations. Planned to make the same for medium and small size as well.
Navmesh for the 2nd floor of the 2-story hub pieces, this is just a thin edge, but now connects to the upper floor wall navmesh
New stairs, like old catwalk, but no bulge on bottom, easier to place, added navmesh, and fits height between ground and upper floor of 2-story central pieces perfectly, which makes them easy to place. Plan is to make few variations of same stair so the looks will fit each of the hub styles.
The combination of navmeshes for 2-floor central piece, new stairs, and existing wall navmesh now allow players, followers and NPCs to freely walk between multiple floors, because the navmeshes of all pieces now connect to the larger walking area.
Before this version is released I will tweak navmesh a little more probably, then apply it to all 2-story pieces, and I hope to add navmesh to all existing stairs as well.
Tweaked height from foundation/ground of all hub pieces, now all should have same height, and should have zero clipping with foundations.
Cleaned up unused snap templates, now when some items are again using same templates.
This now also allows snapping catwalk plaforms and walkways from "Catwalks" mod without clipping into foundations, when catwalk starts from airlock or walls with door openings / passages.
Unfortunate effect is that you'll need small stairs to enter hubs or get onto walkways going forward (new builds), luckily I've added new "Tiny" catwalk stairs (just 2 steps) which perfectly fits the height. Navmesh added to Tiny stair, and followers can follow in/out of buildings. Note that you don't actually need stairs, but without them it won't always be smooth entrance, your character can get stuck a little on the way up.
Fixed airlock without stairs, now doors will open/close in tandem as in all other airlocks (if you liked the broken behavior for "always open" hubs let me know, I can re-make the part as 3rd variation :)
Smaller fixes in many places I forgot about.
Planning to make another variation of tiny stair, without yellow industrial stripe at the steps for more sleek look.
Fixed round pieces a lot - round walls placement height (no longer dropping through foundations or underground), snapping (most noticable on round half-wall, but al have been touched), additional snaps on circular-quarter ceiling. tweak here, tweak there, tweak everywhere

New - 14 military hub pieces, with icons and everything. Sorry, it takes a little more time as they are a quite different than others, but this is already enough to build a small building in military style. Note: military has front, back, and side walls, which have to be joined with right corners! All are available, but please don't complain it's weird, Bethesda designed these! :-) This also means you won't be mixing these walls with other wall types anytime soon.

ENHANCEMENT - most snaps (specially those for walls with small door openings) are now just a little higher when placed on top of foundations, so that the airlocks can snap without collision, but still low enough so that player and NPCs can walk in without issues; this might also lower false collision warnings for other pieces

After wrestling with a lot of hard to detect issues, here is what's new in this release!
# Snap behavior!
This is not something you can experience, but I've spent quite some time to research, decode and learn how to handle snap behaviors.
They are behind the magic of new automatic foundations, automatic stairs, and so on! This will also enable me to make a lot of interesting items in the future - so rejoice! :-)
# Snapping
General cleanup of snapping, removed bottom snap for a lot of items so they don't get pulled to foundations/containers etc.
Made many items easier to place on the uneven ground, even when not using foundations!
# Containers (optional file)
FIX: Large containers - switched back to correct top/bottom snaps
ENHANCED: Medium containers - added another bottom snap point
# Foundations
CHANGE: Large, medium and small containers now have "float" in their name and I've added line to describe them as "floating in thin air" (if not careful)
CHANGE: All foundations now have max height of 65 (was 20), which should be enough to reach the top of the outpost building area sphere
NEW! Large foundation variations
- one with full foundation (everything under foundation is also concrete block, tweaked concrete to be of same type and dimensions)

NEW! As requested, one wall piece to be used as origin so you can start your building at 0/45/90 angles vs the foundations (read description in game!)

/ Snapping
Adjusted snaps using new technique.
This fixed gaps under the roof, and allows for better snapping of walls onto the roof for multiple floors. Stairs adjusted so they can snap to walls/floors so that at least one stair type can get you from one level to the next without gaps or similar. Running from floor to floor is now smooth! Incidentally, this also allowed multiple stair types to snap one to the other. For foundations this fixed stacking one on TOP of the other, so you can stack them into columns.
/ Item Lists
Now we have lists for all items, including foundations, roofs and new buildings!
# Buildings - industrial compounds
New items! Man made industrial locations that have been abandoned. Available now to build in your outposts! And you can use their foundations to build with walls that we already have! One limitation - since these already have their own foundations, and no snapping, they can't be built on top of flat large foundation piece. Instead they are more as standalone pieces.
# Roofs
New roof type added, metallic look, to fit the existing metallic walls.

# Item Lists
Building pieces with multiple variations are sorted in lists under the Misc. So we have Misc - Walls, Misc - Stairs. Roof and foundation are single items and are not part of lists.
# Walls
Several wall items, all from same design series - 4x3.6 full, or with various openings
2x3.6, 3x3.6 and 8x3.6 wall pieces have been tested but didn't have enough time to finish and verify snapping behavior
# Foundations
Only one concrete foundation block, largest I could find. Has very good resilience against uneven terrain, mountain slopes, and similar. 2-click building similar to vanilla hubs and airlock. These snap side by side to each other (on all sides), and underneath one another. Provides very good surface for wall building.
# Containers
Tested containers with front/back snapping. It works well, but due to time constraints it wasn't published in v1.0, as a precaution not to break something for players. It will be added at a later date.
# Stairs
Several types of stairs - aluminum (catwalk style), stone (think Akila), wooden with a block for interiors, elegant wooden version. Another "flying" wooden staircase withheld before publishing due to snapping issues.
# Roofs
While not exactly a roof, one type of wooden ceiling/roof module was added to complete the "box". Snapping to the top of all the wall pieces.
