This is a mod that makes sense. I don't know if Vanilla's dialogue is really impolite or just a matter of translation, and I don't mean it in a derogatory way. Because it also makes me feel uncomfortable in Chinese. George was really just a stubborn, face-saving old man who was afraid of being seen as weak. I guess everyone knows that, right? Maybe sometimes doctors see too many patients. So much so that they are tired and used to such pain, but I still hope that patients are understood and respected, like you said "it's about working together".
George reminds me of my grandfather. His leg can no longer walk smoothly because of an injury. It made him depressed. (Sorry, I don't know English, so I use a translator. But I love this mod.)
It's not just the translation; it was extremely uncomfortable for me. The idea that people should just do exactly what any doctor tells them is absurd. George was clearly uncomfortable, and a doctor demanding full cooperation isn't helpful. That the game gave me a hand slap for standing up for someone's dignity to choose what they do with their body was upsetting.
It should be fine, as it's mainly adding a mail and event. It could be done better in 1.6 (some minor optimisation) but it's unlikely to be of any issue.
I'm going to give this a go. In my person experience in life, I have many times been belittled and ignored by medical professionals, without apology for any actual pain or trouble they have caused or even when I turned out to be correct. I think this is a GREAT addition.
Do you happen to know if this is compatible with the Dr. Hazel mod? Or if this scene is even in that mod still? Sorry to bother. Here is that mod's link: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5609
If the Hazel mod kept the event then my letter will likely be sent (and the follow up event too), but i don't have any compat patch, so the name in the letter will be Harvey.
If you are interested, you can find plenty of things to read on the topic all over the internet. Especially in disabled groups particulary familiar with such problems from their doctors, but in other kind of groups too. They know too well the situation when the knowledge of a patient is dismissed as less valuable, and the fact that the doctor is bearing medical knowledge is making the doctor forgot the importance of other skills, including working with the patient.
I don't think it's compatible, as i likely used whatever was the latest CP format available when i made the mod. However making it compatible may be doable by changing the CP format/version. But i don't have mobile to test so i will not do it. You can try if you want to do it for personal use.
Okay, I read the mods dialogue and now it makes way more sense.
I'd always taken the issue as 'I'm an adult, I can have salty foods if I want to!' Which is true, but not per se the most responsible stance to take on ones own health. It's an old familiar story and clearly I wasn't paying enough attention to the subtext.
These are some very important things to address and that follow up is a much more productive example of medical care. :)

I'm so, so happy to install this mod.
