I can't get this to work. No error message, and it seems like it should be working based on the readout in SMAPI during loading:
[SMAPI] Loaded 10 content packs: [SMAPI] Broomstick Horse-Nimbus 2000 (Harry Poter) 1.0.0 by AkaiLIANG | for Content Patcher | This is the horse with Nimbus 2000 skin (yes the one that Harry Poter rides!)
But my horse remains a horse. The only unusual thing I can see is that SMAPI reads the mod version as 1.0.0 even though I only ever downloaded the 1.0.1 version, but it doesn't seem like that should be causing a problem. If anyone has any ideas for me it'd be much appreciated.
Hello, thanks for the feedback. Maybe try to remove the 1.0.0and 1.0.1 from the Mods folder of Stardew Valley and then download again the latest version? I’m busy at work these days and will have time to check it out a few days later. If the suggestion that I give does not work, I’ll get back to you asap~
Thank you for your reply! Unfortunately in my case I had never downloaded the 1.0.0 version. The first and only version I downloaded was the 1.0.1 version. I believe the issue with SMAPI reading the 1.0.1 version as 1.0 is because of the metadata in the "manifest.json" of the 1.0.1 version, which I will copy below. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ { "Name": "Broomstick Horse-Nimbus 2000 (Harry Poter)", "Author": "AkaiLIANG", "Version": "1.0", "Description": "This is the horse with Nimbus 2000 skin (yes the one that Harry Poter rides!)", "UniqueID": "Nimbus_2000_TunTun", "MinimumApiVersion": "1.0", "UpdateKeys": ["Nexus:9426"], "ContentPackFor": { "UniqueID": "Pathoschild.ContentPatcher" } } __________________________________________________________________________________________________
I did take your advice and once again deleted and reinstalled the mod, but there was no change. If it's just me with the problem, I'm guessing there's some sort of conflict with another mod or content pack I'm running. I haven't gotten around to disabling my other mods to test that hypothesis though. Nothing I'm running has any impact on the horse, but I can't think of another explanation.
Thank you very much for your reply, I appreciate it immensely. I will let you know if I figure out what's stopping it from working.
Ugh, I finally figured it out. It ended up being a conflict with aedenthorn'sYet Another Jump Mod which, as I eventually found out, also loads a custom horse texture. I ended up pasting my own broom/horse texture into the YAJM assets folder and it works.
Thanks for the great mod and for trying to help my dumb ass, lol
lol sorry the works were extremely busy at my side so I was unable to get to your problem on time. Congratulation that you found the solution (lol) U don’t need to apologise hahaha it is just a common conflict! Sorry that I did not give you an useful suggestion earlier XD enjoy the game and the flight the ;)
He's right though, you need to update the version number in manifest.json, otherwise SMAPI reports that your version is out of date because the version on Nexus is 1.0.1.
