Hello, sorry for the extremely late reply. The explanations for the kanji is in the comment below. If you need further clarification, I'm afraid you'll need a professional translation service. Unfortunately, I'm not actually fluent in Japanese. That said, I looked over your work, and I'm honestly amazed by it. When I was making these, I was trying my best to make the characters as dark and legible as possible, but it seems the overall quality suffered in the process. And yet, yours looks so much cleaner and more legible. It's certainly closer perfect than mine could ever be. I'm very impressed with your work, so with your permission, I'll use these assets and give you full credit for them. I'll be sure to make it clear you did the bulk of the work, and and I'm just framing it, pretty much literally. I also have a DGA version I intended to add, so if it's alright with you, I'll upload your version for DGA, also. Eventually, I'll get around to doing a CP version for people playing v1.6, but that's a long way off for now. I hope you're still around, I know I was gone for quite a while. Sorry about that.
Hi, sorry for the late reply. The rules are actually: (rule 1, on the right) 空手無先手 - literally: "karate no first strike", or as Mr. Miyagi puts it, "karate for defense only". (rule 2, on the left) 先正其心 - literally: "first have sound mind", though Mr. Miyagi says "first learn rule 1". I know the characters came out pretty sloppy, but being limited to an area of 16x48 pixels makes it almost impossible to replicate them with any real precision.
On a side note, however, the characters you have above are actually the Kanji for "Kanji", or "Chinese characters", as the Japanese developed their writing system from Chinese characters in the 5th century.
