A quick suggestion : if you make the second floor a separate map and add it to the game via Content Patcher this should resolve the issue with Fruit Bat caves.
As a nice side-effect the cave will also appear centred in the viewport when you enter it rather than being stuck at the top of the screen.
that is actually a very good idea. i am unfamiliar with ceating new maps instead of just editing existing ones. atm i am not working on the mods but if i pick them up again, i will keep your suggestion in mind and have a go at it
I actually made my own Farm Cave mod inspired by yours that does it this way; Content Patcher now makes it quite easy to add custom locations to the game :-)

Here to report that I used this mod with fruit bats for one and a half seasons, and found that while this one doesn't seem to inhibit the fruit spawn rate as badly as the configurable version, it does definitely still reduce the rate of fruit spawns. Still not sure why that would be the case. And again: I'm not expecting a fix for it, I just want the info to be available for anyone who might be wondering.

my idea: i guess the spawn rate is hard coded for the map. The problem: i changed the SIZE of the map, with most part of the map not reachable. I could check if i used tiles like "buildings" in the non reachable parts of the whole map, and not "floor". could be that the fruits do spawn as usual, but you see only a fraction of it, due to the fact that most spawns off screen.
It's because the code that tests for whether or not to spawn fruit just randomly selects a tile, and if that tile is in the void (as most of this map is in the void), it will simply not spawn a fruit. Possibly would need to install a mod that ups the fruit chances.
Hello!!! I was really looking forward to the cave retexure but I am facing some problems and I cant seem to figure out what is causing it, the thing is though I can use the elevator and go down i cant seem to come back up. I faced the same problem using your configurable cave map. I use use DaisyNiko's tiny garden farm and also better farm foraging. I am an android user. Thank you in advance!!
Hmmm. I am not sure what might be the issue. The mechanism to travel between the two areas are diffrent, depending which way you go. To enter the storage you use the elevator tile and activate it. To go back, since there was no elevator tile facing north, i decided to use a teleporter tile on touch (which works just like any other door in stardew valley). For some reason this seems to not work for you.
I works when i test it on my PC. So it must be due to another mod you use, or a complication with android. I made this mod on PC and tested it only on PC so i have no idea if it works the same way on android :/

How do you exit the lower level of the cave after you take the elevator down? Where it spawns you doesn't have a door or anything and there's no elevator back up.

Also if you downloaded this in the last hour there was a bug with the old version which I have now fixed.
