If you find yourself unable to select which map to build on, check your mod list to see if you have Tree Transplant, It is currently blocking the ability to select which map to build on.
You Should be seeing a menu that looks like this after you select "Construct Farm Buildings" Before it goes to the part where you select which building you want to build.
I'm planning to build coop and barn in expension north and i noticed the grass there don't grow, also when it's green rain, the entire farm doesn't spawn bushes, only the trees turn to green rain tree
strange, i wonder if its a side effect of how the game codes for the expansions compared to the farm, i'll have to look into it, but the answer might be on the coding side of how the game functions , which i wont be able to do anything about, because i'm using just adding reference tags to my maps to apply functions, but i might be able to report it as something for someone else to patch.
Honestly? I don't know. I'm currently just plugging my expansions into the new system for loading zones with their new data and allowing robin to build there. There might be a setting in there that allows it, but I kinda doubt it, because why disable it in the first place.
I'm guessing it would cause too many issues code-wise.
Because if you allowed them on other maps, by logical extention you'd also have to allow things like moving buildings between maps, because the base the code that marks cabin location only works on the farm (unless they changed that), so if you'd want them on others, you'd have to enable moving buildings between them (unless that's already possible), and they re-coded a lot of stuff to get us as much as we did for 1.6 already.
I'm still a little spotty on how deep the 1.6 changes go, there was a lot of them, and i havent done a deep dive yet, I also haven't actually PLAYED 1.6 yet, though i'm thinking of starting a run soon.
For everyone who wants to replace a different farm, because the standard farm is still a great map and there are other maps you play way less, then go in content.json and you ll find "Target": "Maps/Farm".
Just change Farm with the other map names: Farm_Foraging, Farm_Fishing, Farm_Mining, Farm_Combat, Farm_Island or Farm_FourCorners.
Can't figure out how to build on the expansions. We cleared a spot for them, but whenever I try to, I go all the way to the left, and it doesn't let me leave the main section. Is there a hotkey or something I should know about?
I am IN LOVE with this MAP!!!! I told my husband I needed more space to play with, because I wanted to actually be able to decorate, but also put in buildings, have farm space, fish ponds, trees, etc.
lemme tell you, my man can find ANYTHING online, because within MINUTES, he had about 5 different choices for me, and of course I chose the one with the most farmable space. I needed tea plant space, and tree space for wood. I've been playing it almost non-stop for days, and I still haven't cleared the entire west field, lol. This is such an amazing mod, and I am loving it so much! I'm not sure I could go back to the small one now! I'll be coming back to leave you a donation as soon as I can, because man you've earned it. Well done!
I haven't tested it yet, I'm still updating my mods with the little time I have available to me atm, before i go testing new functionalities to see how the game has changed..
first of all, i just want to say thank you so much for updating this farm for 1.6. all the other farm mods i've played in the past do not seem to work with the new update (you literally cannot leave the farm), and none have been update (i totally get modders have busy 'real' lives, and for most, this is not their top priority! still, it was really great to see a large farm updated).
i was wondering if anyone can tell me how to toggle from the dirt version to the grass version? i've looked in the configure mods menu on the load screen and in play, and i don't see it listed. do i have to manually change the manifest (i'm not techy, but i think i know how to do that!). i'm not pressed that the farm doesn't have a lot of features, but i've found it oddly depressing to work on an all dirt farm! :)
