Hello I'm really new to modding and wanted to try making a npc. I've got your NPC creator and it's going good so far. I'm kind of stuck at scheduling because of I'm not able to figure out how to get the coordinates. Could you tell me exactly how to use this mod? Like where am I supposed to put it? Does I go in my sdvmod folder? How do I gain access to it in game? And how to link NPC creator to it? Your help is really appreciated. Thanks!
Hey! I’m not sure what the mod author would reply, but let me tell you how I’m using the mod in-game. First, of course you need SMAPI and the folder Console Commands. This folder allows you to type commands into your SMAPI log and have them applied in game. However, this can be a bit clunky, so there’s an awesome mod called “chat commands”: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2092
This mod allows you to type in commands by pressing “t” on your keyboard, then you enter a slash (/) then the command you want to use. For this position tool mod, I believe you type /addhere. Then you’ll be able to see the specific coordinates, wherever you are on a map! It’s so helpful when trying to write event mods. I do have it in my SDV “Mods” folder. I hope this helps!
I just started making events and I"m really thankful for this. I also posted a bug in the bug section if you get a chance to look at it.
I also really appreciate your tutorial videos on youtube. They inspired me to write little test events for myself, spicing them up with fun dialogue and emotes so I can get used to writing event scripts when testing out different event commands.
