About this mod

Changes the early watering can area to resemble the way it worked in FoMT, wide, not long: 1x3, 2x3, 3x3 instead of 3x1, 5x1, 3x3. Also gives the Steel Hoe a boost to 6x1 instead of 5x1 and buffs the reach enchantment.

Permissions and credits
Compatible with Stardew Valley 1.6.1 and SMAPI 4.0.1. Source available on Github:

This mod changes the early watering can area to resemble the way it worked in Harvest Moon FoMT, wide, not long: 1x3, 2x3, 3x3 instead of 3x1, 5x1, 3x3.

This way you can use the watering can the way you (and your muscle memory) are used to.

Works well with my other mod Watering Grants Experience to give you an incentive to upgrade it and use it for longer.

Summary on the progression changes:

Copper:
  • before: 3x1, 3 tiles total
  • after: 1x3, 3 tiles total
Steel:
  • before: 5x1, 5 tiles total
  • after: 2x3, 6 tiles total
Gold, Iridium:
  • same as before
Iridium+Reach:
  • before: 5x5, 25 tiles total
  • after: 6x5, 30 tiles total (allows to water the greenhouse with 4 uses instead of 6, can be disabled in the config)

The mod also fixes the base game animation bug with the reach enchantment of the water going the wrong way around in 3 of 4 directions:

I also gave a minor adjustment to the hoe to not leave it behind and give it a multiple of 3:

Compatibility:
Compatible with Moon Misadventures, which adds multiple new tiers for tools.
Compatible with Radioactive Tools, but it's outdated and I don't recommend using it currently (fyi: Moon Misadventures also adds radioactive tools).
