they are adorable and the artstyle fits well in the game, though this mod makes the in-ground ginger invisible on ginger island, so keep it in mind when downloading it.
Can this mode be use as one of the re skin from the mod https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/4011?tab=posts This mod looks amazing the texture and the way was made, I wanna add it so badly, since it looks exactly like my Dachshunds Dogs YOU REALLY NAILED IT!
Because this mod has the png files, all you'd need to do is copy the files into your Dog folder from A&S and rename the files "Dog 1", "Dog 2", ect (make sure that all your dog types have different numbers after them!). I use tons of pet/horse replacers that weren't technically made for A&S; as long as they have a png file instead of the xnb file you're good to go :)
Hi mate, thanks for your comment. Mods changing dogs are not incompatibles if you don't change the same vanilla dog. There are options to chose which vanilla dog you want to replace^^ But I'm not sure it's interesting to have several mods of this type installed indeed, because you can have only one dog per playthrough. Sorry for the akward english, it's not my first langage ;)
Hi, so i downloaded your mod and installed it through vortex. Does the picture change while in the character creator menu as well? I haven't been able to get the dachshund dog to appear at all.
Hi, no the avatar of the dog doesn't change while in the character creator menu, but it will during your playthrough. I'll try to make it appear in the creation menu as well in a next update, if I manage to understand how to do it ;)

I don't use mods that add as many pets as we want, so I'm not sure. But reading the description you can use as many sprites as you want.
Concerning replacers alone, they replace one of the three dogs or cats of the base game with the one you download. If it's a content patcher mod (as mine), they don't "replace" stricly speaking because they don't overwrite the base file. They use the new sprite instead of the base sprite.

Oh no, I am aware of the beauty that is SMAPI. Big part of the reason I took the leap into the mod community to be honest, altering the source code sounds terrifying.
