Thanks for this! I like what you've done with the "new" blobfish. After learning about how it really looks, it makes me sad to look at the present state of the blobfish as it's suffering. I hope one day an animated version comes out! Good job!
Hi there, thanks for the advice. I am aware of the advantage and all my mods use the edit function whenever they can. I wrote this one first as well like that but it didnt work for some reason (keep in mind that fishpond data is a structured xnb. which works slightly different then the other files). I tried using the fields { } ... edit funtion but in the end had a look at other mods that changed fishpond data and they all took this short route when not adding stuff.
If you have any suggestions or a mod that sucessfully only edits the fishpond data i am willing to rewirte the code to make it more compatible.
Spookfish? oh! You probably mean in the springobject? There are some other changes (which this mod doesnt use, just copied it form my folder quick and dirty) The Spookfish is actually the work of this mod. (its used as Ice Pip)
JA Version, well its not much text is it? Only the description ? Can you translate and send me the text ? I might include it in a patch.
I'm actually doing it into JA atm. And I'm happy to share it with you but I will need to test it first!
Maybe if we are getting it separate we can convince it to be added to Aquarium. Atm I'm not sure what will happen. It may turn into a blobfish if donated?
I think the editData problem with FishPond data is cos there are so many brackets that it is very confusing.
Hey great, yeah let me know when you feel ready. Thanks a lot. You are right about the bracket madness ^^. Well i am new to modding. I read the guides and my modding evolved from personal xnb editing to hopefully bugfree and configurable modding for everyone. When i tried my "edit" version SMAPI and the content patcher didnt complain about anything. I kept to the documentation of Pathoschild on how to edit only fields in a Data.xnb, but alas, no changes were working. So in my last , brutal effort i just replaced the whole fishpond. So far it is beyond me, i cant find the problem. But i guess it should work somehow, i just dont know how :(
EDIT: Quick question, i think i misunderstood something. JA = Json Assets? I thought Japanese , lol ^^ I dont use JA either way atm.
2nd EDIT: to clarify, objectinformation and springobjects both get edited by this mod, not replaced. (fish description and the graphics) the replace compatibility issue is only with the fish pond (which you can turn OFF).
Okay, so I've got it fishable as a unique fish, using json assets. I'm happy to send you the files if you are interested in releasing it as a separate standalone fish. Currently I have it spawning in one of my custom locations (East Scarpe's orchard) as I am not sure I can add it to the deep-sea sub. If you are interested, let me know where you'd like it to be found and I'll add in the relevant code (I can make it More New Fish and SVE compatible too if you like).
If you're not interested, I'll just keep it to myself.
(I'll be trialing it in fishponds when I get some new ones made).
Hey , thanks for your work! I could upload it as an optional version/file? ( I dont use JA and have no experience with it) THere are probably more people interested in it like you!
I replaced the one in my springObjects file with the one from the Aquarium mod, which made me feel a bit better about it! Since he's well, less blobby. But yes, it was pretty horrifying!
Yes thats true! i read about it since i found it so unbelievable how the fish looked. Their gooey bone structure needs the high pressure otherwise they loose shape when they are reeled in by fisherboats. Actually not that bad looking fish when in the natural habitat.
Yeah stubblefish are good little guys when people aren't endangering them. They say there's no good way to study deep sea creature but bring them up, but it still makes me uneasy. :(
Also poor Eloise, that is not something I'd want to know at such a young age.
Also, also how did you replace it with the Aquarium's fish? I couldn't find any fish that were separate from their tanks (unless you count the secret fish)
Cut n paste from the tilesheet into my springobjects one (or rather the one i have added by another mod). Its not hugely different just less blobby. They were trying to capture the fish's original appearance. How you could revive an exploded fish I dont know but let's say magic.

Maybe the mod is off or you have a conflict with another mod ?
(Also: it's probably better to only EditData in the information on your Pearl Fish to the Fish Data rather than over-write the whole FishData file.)
PS: I like what youv'e done with the SpookFish.

I'm just building a fish pond now for them. I'll let you know how it works.

Cut and paste, got it.
(Which mod added that tilesheet btw?)
