That's my review. These portraits fit the game like bread and butter!
I've been using talkohlooeys since those came out to try to mimic Harvest Moon, but these.. these do their own thing and it really works. The part which the screenshots don't do justice, and in game shows off, is the colored shading on every character. It's an artistic direction that really pulls it off. Especially as they transition from one expression to the next. It gives the game its own character. I still love talkohlooeys, but Breads wins.
So, 10/10. These portraits really pop and manage to not look flat like the other portraits out there due to creative shading. I'm looking forward to the SVE portraits (and anything else the future brings **cough cough mermaid island**).
Thanks a lot for the review! I'll try to play the mermaid island mod in the future so i can learn the personality of the NPC then i can get the picture of how to draw them.
Cool. TBH I haven't played with Mermaid Island either. I'm just fishing for my own motivation to use it with SVE and Aquarium (for a Stardew on Steroids winter playthru)
