Good morning. After running this mod for months, all of a sudden this morning I have white cows instead of deer. I tried removing BFAV Deer and reinstalling it but that did nothing. I am running the unofficial version of BFAV. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I love my deer. I am relatively new to modding so am not sure if I can doing this correctly. Please help.
I like the idea, but I think it might be more realistic if they dropped antlers or dug up something similar to how pigs dig up truffles. They are super cute though. And it would also be awesome if when combined with the animal husbandry mod, you could get venison from butchering adult animals. Just a couple of ideas.
Hi, I installed the version of this mod that makes the deer produce goat milk and at one point tried to change their price in the content file which didn't work. I bought one and it's been a while, but the deer won't mature, did I mess up?
Your issue is with the BFAV mod, not specifically with mine, so I'm not sure how to fix the problem. You'd be best to ask MouseyPounds directly, as they uploaded the unofficial version you are using. Thank you for that, I like to maintain a somewhat vanilla version of the game, but just add onto it (for example I use the diverse villagers mod as they are vanilla style, but add to my game experience!) As for custom produce I won't be adding it in, as I've always been content with my data edit of the goat's milk to gourmet milk (the graphic even has a large 'G' on it so gourmet makes perfect sense!) If you are looking for custom produce for deer I would suggest checking out Trent's New Animals here: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/3634, But it doesn't look to be an optional file so unless you understand how the different installs interact and can put your own mods together it might be more difficult. As I've answered before you could change the sprites of Trent's New Animals with the ones from my download to gain the graphics of mine with Trent's custom milk, but again that is a bit of mucking around I know! Hope you figure out something that you're happy with!
Not to sound rude because I like the idea of your mod but trents new animals adds this already and adds its own unique produce using json assets.Any idea if this will conflict?
Yes I know about Trent's animals, I mention it in my description. The two mods wouldn't really work well together, as you would end up with two deer options, one with baby version and one without, I'm not sure they may conflict as well, but I don't think so. If you have already installed Trent's animals I would suggest you just take the baby deer sprite (and adult sprite if you prefer the eyes in my version) I have in my download and change it with the corresponding sprite in Trent's mod, to give you the missing baby sprite. Really my mod is just for the baby deer I created, which I had made before I did know about Trent's mod, and the data edit was just what I've done since Eemie's deer was a goat reskin, and thought it might be useful for those that don't use json assets and what I use myself.
The Bfav mod you have used isn't working anymore, so I can't get your mod to work either, any advice on this? Maybe I missed something about a new version?
You need to go to this link: https://community.playstarbound.com/threads/updating-mods-for-stardew-valley-1-4.156000/page-46#post-3356278 and download the attached file. It's an unofficial update, as I mentioned and linked in the description. Once you've downloaded that then you'll be good to go and own as many deer as you like!
