THE PINK PANTHER requires Microsoft DirectX 8.1 to function.
However, you may also find it necessary to update your graphics card's drivers in order to play "THE PINK PANTHER Pinkadelic Pursuit". For more information, visit your graphics card's manufacturer's website (a list of such sites can be found near the end of this file, in the "3D graphics cards drivers" section).

General Information

DirectX:
THE PINK PANTHER requires Microsoft DirectX 8.1 in order to function.
We therefore recommend that you install the latest DirectX 8.1 compatible graphics and sound card drivers.

Windows 2000 / XP:
We recommend that you use drivers supplied by individual manufacturers for their Windows XP / 2000 products instead of the default drivers installed on your machine and supplied by Microsoft.

Memory:
In order to see the game at its best, we recommend that you have at least 128 MB RAM.

Compatible applications:
THE PINK PANTHER has been designed to make the best of your system's resources. We therefore recommend you close all other applications before running the game.

Free hard-disk space:
THE PINK PANTHER requires a minimum of 300 MB free hard-disk space.

Graphics card memory:
THE PINK PANTHER requires a graphics card with a minimum of 8 MB RAM in order to function. THE PINK PANTHER will not run on a machine whose graphics card has less than 8 MB RAM.

Installing the PINK PANTHER

Insert the PINK PANTHER disk into your CD-ROM / DVD-ROM drive.
If the Autorun function is turned on, the installation program will launch automatically. If Autorun is not turned on, use Windows Explorer to browse through the CD-ROM's contents and manually open the "setup.exe" file.

If DirectX 8.1 was not already present on your computer at the start of the installation process, you may be required to reboot your computer. In this case, you can continue the installation process once Windows has restarted. If Autorun is turned on, simply reinsert your PINK PANTHER CD-ROM, otherwise open Windows Explorer and click on "setup.exe" once more.

Space required
The PINK PANTHER requires about 300 MB of free hard-disk space.

Uninstalling the PINK PANTHER
______________________________

Should you choose to uninstall the PINK PANTHER, the "Data/Save" folder will not be deleted. You can, however, delete it manually.

If you are having difficulties uninstalling the PINK PANTHER, it may be that your Windows Installer is not up to date. In this case, you will be able to update the Installer by opening the "update" folder on the CD-ROM and double-clicking on "update.exe".

Settings

You can set the Sound Effects and Music volume settings in the game's Options Menu.

Anti-aliasing:
In THE PINK PANTHER, you can choose to turn anti-aliasing on or off in order to improve the game's appearance. However, if your computer's specifications are close to the minimum required specifications, it is recommended that you do not turn this function on, as it may slow down the game's performance.
(Option not available with Geforce 4).

Known problems

* The game will not launch or freezes on a black screen:

You need to install the latest DirectX 8.1 compatible drivers available for your graphics card.





* nVIDIA Geforce 4 graphics cards:

Problems may occur with the game's videos if the anti-aliasing 2x option is turned on in the graphics card's driver.
This problem can be solved by either turning the anti-aliasing option off or by setting your driver to anti-aliasing 4x.

Open Start / Settings / Control Panel

Double-click on the "DISPLAY" icon
Click on the "Settings" tab
Now click on the "Advanced" button

Look for the tab with your Card's Name
Now click on the "Other Properties" button
Go to the "3D Anti-aliasing Settings" and

A) Select "Allow applications control the anti-aliasing mode"
or
B) Select "Manually select the anti-aliasing mode" and then select "4x".








* Windows 2000 + nVIDIA Geforce 4 graphics cards:

If running on Windows 2000 SP1, problems may occur or the game may not launch. This can be solved by installing Windows 2000 Service Pack 2.






* ATI Cards:

Problems may occur and the game may slow down if you do not have the latest DirectX 8.1 compatible ATI drivers.

We recommend you install the latest drivers available for your graphics card. If possible, install the "Reference" drivers provided by the graphics chipset manufacturer rather than those provided by the graphics card manufacturer or those certified WHQL by Microsoft.

Nous vous recommandons d'utiliser les pilotes distribu�s par les fabricants

Installation
______________________________

Ins�rez le disque de LA PANTHERE ROSE dans le lecteur de CD-ROM / DVD-ROM.
Si la fonction Autoplay est activ�e, le programme d'installation se lance
automatiquement. Si la fonction Autoplay est d�sactiv�e, utilisez l'Explorateur
pour naviguer sur le c�d�rom LA PANTHERE ROSE et lancer manuellement
le programme setup.exe

Si DirextX 8.1 n'�tait pas install� sur votre ordinateur avant le d�but de l'installation, il
se peut qu'il soit oblig� de red�marrer. Dans ce cas, d�s le retour sous Windows, veuillez reprendre la proc�dure d'installation depuis le point pr�c�dant. L'installation reprendra soit en r�ins�rant votre c�d�rom si vous disposer de la fonction d'autoplay de Windows, soit en cliquant de nouveau sur setup.exe depuis l'explorateur.

LA PANTHERE ROSE requiert environ 300 Mo d'espace disque libre.

D�sinstallation

Lorsque le jeu LA PANTHERE ROSE est d�sinstall�, le r�pertoire "data\Save" n'est pas supprim�. L'utilisateur peut toutefois le supprimer manuellement.

Si vous rencontrer des difficult�es lors de la d�sintallation, il se peut que vous deviez mettre � jour le syst�me d'installation et de d�sinstallation de Windows. Dans ce cas, vous trouverez sur le c�d�rom, dans le r�pertoire "update", le fichier "update.exe" qui �x�cutera cette mise � jour.

Dans le Menu des Options du jeu, vous pouvez r�gler le volume sonore des Effets, ainsi que le volume sonore des Musiques.

Anticr�nelage:
Vous pouvez Activez/D�sactivez l'Anticr�nelage dans LA PANTHERE ROSE pour am�liorer l'aspect graphique du Jeu. Il est cependant conseill� pour les petites configurations de ne pas activer cette fonction afin de ne pas ralentir le fonctionnement du jeu.
( Non disponible sur les Geforce 4 ).

* Le jeu ne se lance pas, ou reste fig� sur un �cran noir :

Vous devez installer les derniers drivers compatibles DirectX 8.1 pour votre carte graphique.





* Cartes graphiques nVIDIA Geforce 4 :

Certains probl�mes graphiques se manifestent dans les videos jou�es si l'option Antiacr�nelage 2x est activ�e dans les drivers de la carte.
Ce probl�me peut �tre r�solu en d�sactivant l'Option Anticr�nelage ou en s�lectionnant l'Anticr�nelage 4x par le biais des drivers.

Dans D�marrer->Param�tres->Panneau de Configuration

Selectionnez l'icone "AFFICHAGE"
Cliquez sur l'onglet "Param�tres"
Puis sur le Bouton "Avanc�"

Recherchez l'onglet avec le Nom de votre Carte
Puis cliquez sur le Bouton "Autres propri�t�s..."
Dans l'onglet "Param�tres d'anticr�nelage 3D"

S�lectionnez "Permettre aux applications de contr�ler le mode d'anticr�nelage"
ou
S�lectionnez "S�lectionner manuellement le mode d'anticr�nelage"
et "4x"








* Windows 2000 + cartes graphiques nVIDIA Geforce 4 :

Nous avons constat� qu'avec Windows 2000 SP1, certains probl�mes graphiques se manifestent ou le jeu refuse de se lancer. Techniquement, ce probl�me peut �tre r�solu en installant le Service Pack 2 de windows 2000.






* Cartes ATI :

Des probl�mes graphiques, ainsi que des ralentissements sont apparus si vous ne disposez pas des derniers pilotes ATI compatible Directx 8.1.

Nous vous recommandons d'utiliser les derniers pilotes pour votre
carte graphique. Pr�f�rez si possible les pilotes de "R�f�rence" des fabricants
de chipset graphique aux pilotes personnalis�s par le fabricant de carte
graphique et aux pilotes certifi�s WHQL de Microsoft.

Daher raten wir zur Installation der jeweils neuesten DirectX 8.1-kompatiblen
Treiber f�r Grafik- und Soundkarten.

Windows 2000/XP:
Wir empfehlen die Nutzung der vom Hersteller bereitgestellten Treiber f�r
Windows XP/2000 (z.B. Treiber, die eine �nderung der Benutzerbefehle f�r
eine bestimmte Hardware erfordern) an Stelle der von Microsoft bei der
Ger�tekonfiguration standardm��ig installierten Treiber.

Arbeitsspeicher:
Um ideale Ergebnisse zu erzielen empfehlen wir mindestens
128 MB Arbeitsspeicher.

Kompatible Anwendungen:
PINK PANTHER ist darauf ausgelegt, die bestm�gliche Leistung auf dem

Installation
______________________________

Legen Sie die CD PINK PANTHER in das CD-/DVD-ROM-Laufwerk ein.
Falls die Autoplay-Funktion aktiviert ist, wird das Installationsprogramm
automatisch gestartet. Falls die Autoplay-Funktion deaktiviert ist, gehen Sie im Windows-Explorer
auf die CD-ROM PINK PANTHER und starten Sie hier manuell das Programm
setup.exe

Falls DirectX 8.1 nicht bereits vor Beginn der Installation auf dem Computer installiert war,
kann es sein, dass der Computer neu gestartet werden muss. Nehmen Sie in einem solchen Fall nach dem Neustart von Windows die Installation am vorangehenden Punkt wieder auf. Die Installation k�nnen Sie wieder aufnehmen, indem Sie die CD-ROM erneut einlegen, falls die Autoplay-Funktion aktiviert ist bzw. indem Sie erneut auf die Datei setup.exe im Windows-Explorer im Windows-Explorer klicken.


Speicherplatz
PINK PANTHER belegt etwa 300 MB Festplattenspeicher.

Deinstallation

Bei der Deinstallation von PINK PANTHER wird das Verzeichnis "data\Save" nicht gel�scht. Dieses Verzeichnis k�nnen Sie jedoch manuell l�schen.

Sollten Schwierigkeiten bei der Deinstallation auftreten, kann es sein, dass Sie Ihr Installations- und Deinstallationssystem unter Windows aktualisieren m�ssen. Auf der CD-ROM finden Sie im Verzeichnis "update" die Datei "update.exe", mit der diese Aktualisierung ausgef�hrt werden kann.

Im Spieloptionen-Men� k�nnen Sie die Lautst�rke der Effekte sowie der Musik regeln.

Anti-Aliasing:
In PINK PANTHER k�nnen Sie die Anti-Aliasing-Funktion aktivieren oder deaktivieren, um die grafische Darstellung des Spiels zu optimieren. Diese Funktion sollte bei Mindestkonfigurationen nicht aktiviert werden, um das Spiel nicht zu verlangsamen.
(F�r Geforce 4 nicht verf�gbar).

* Das Spiel wird nicht gestartet bzw. bleibt bei einem schwarzen Bildschirm h�ngen:

Installieren Sie die neusten DirectX 8.1-kompatiblen Treiber f�r Ihre Grafikkarte.





* nVIDIA Geforce 4 Grafikkarten:

Bestimmte Grafikprobleme treten bei Spielvideos auf, wenn die Option f�r zweifaches Anti-Aliasing in den Kartentreibern aktiviert ist.
Dieses Problem k�nnen Sie l�sen, indem Sie die Anti-Aliasing-Funktion deaktivieren oder �ber die Treiber vierfaches Anti-Aliasing w�hlen.

F�hren Sie unter "Start" -> "Einstellungen" -> "Systemkonfiguration" folgende Aktionen aus:

W�hlen Sie das Symbol "Anzeige".
Klicken Sie auf das Register "Einstellungen".
W�hlen Sie die Schaltfl�che "Erweitert".

Suchen Sie den Eintrag mit dem Namen Ihrer Karte.
Klicken Sie nun auf die Schaltfl�che "Erweitert".
Klicken Sie auf das Symbol f�r die Einstellungen des 3D Anti-Aliasing.

W�hlen Sie die Option zur Bestimmung des Anti-Aliasing-Modus durch die jeweilige Software
oder
w�hlen Sie die Option zur manuellen Auswahl des Anti-Aliasing-Modus.
W�hlen Sie dann die Option f�r vierfaches Anti-Aliasing.








* Windows 2000 und nVIDIA Geforce 4 Grafikkarten:

Wir haben festgestellt dass bei Windows 2000 Service Pack 1 bestimmte Grafikprobleme auftreten k�nnen, die das Starten des Spiels verhindern. Dieses Problem kann technisch durch die Installation des Windows 2000 Service Pack 2 behoben werden.






* ATI-Grafikkarten:

DirectX:
Para jugar a LA PANTERA ROSA es necesario tener instalado DirectX 8.1 de Microsoft.
Se recomienda instalar los controladores m�s recientes de la tarjeta gr�fica y de sonido compatibles con DirectX 8.1.

Windows 2000 / XP:
Se recomienda utilizar los controladores distribuidos por el fabricante para Windows XP/2000 (por ejemplo, controladores que tengan que ser configurados por el usuario para el software espec�fico), en lugar de los controladores que instala Microsoft por defecto al configurar el equipo.

Memoria:
Para obtener un �ptimo rendimiento, se recomienda disponer, como m�nimo, de 128 MB de memoria.

Aplicaciones compatibles:
LA PANTERA ROSA est� concebido para sacar el m�ximo partido al equipo donde se instala. Por ello, recomendamos cerrar todas las aplicaciones abiertas antes de ejecutar LA PANTERA ROSA.

Espacio libre en el disco:
Para jugar a LA PANTERA ROSA se necesitan al menos 300 MB de espacio libre en el disco.

Memoria gr�fica:
LA PANTERA ROSA necesita una tarjeta gr�fica de 8 MB de memoria gr�fica o m�s. El juego no se ejecutar� si el equipo dispone de menos de 8 MB de memoria gr�fica.

Instalaci�n
______________________________

Inserta el disco de LA PANTERA ROSA en el lector de CD-ROM / DVD-ROM.
Si est� activada la funci�n de reproducci�n autom�tica, el programa de instalaci�n se ejecuta de forma autom�tica. De lo contrario, utiliza el Explorador para acceder al CD-ROM de LA PANTERA ROSA y ejecutar de forma manual el programa setup.exe

Si no est� instalado DirectX 8.1 antes de comenzar la instalaci�n, es posible que tengas que reiniciar el equipo. En este caso, al volver a cargar Windows, retoma la instalaci�n desde el punto anterior. La instalaci�n se reanuda al volver a insertar el CD-ROM (si est� activada la funci�n de reproducci�n autom�tica), o bien haciendo clic de nuevo en setup.exe desde el Explorador.

Espacio ocupado
LA PANTERA ROSA necesita en torno a 300 MB de espacio libre en el disco.

Desinstalaci�n
______________________________

Al desinstalar el juego LA PANTERA ROSA, no se elimina el directorio "data\Save". El usuario puede suprimirlo de forma manual.

Si tienes problemas durante la desinstalaci�n, tal vez necesites actualizar el sistema de instalaci�n y desinstalaci�n de Windows. En este caso, inserta el CD-ROM y, dentro de la carpeta "update", ejecuta el archivo "update.exe" para actualizarlo.

Configuraci�n

En el men� Opciones del juego puedes regular el volumen de los efectos, as� como de la m�sica.

Suavizado:
Puedes activar y desactivar el Suavizado en LA PANTERA ROSA para mejorar el aspecto gr�fico del juego. En equipos menos potentes se recomienda no activar esta funci�n para no ralentizar el funcionamiento del juego.
(No disponible en las Geforce 4).

Resoluci�n de problemas

* El juego no se ejecuta o se queda fijo sobre un fondo negro:

Debes instalar los controladores m�s recientes de la tarjeta gr�fica compatibles con DirectX 8.1.





* Tarjetas gr�ficas nVIDIA Geforce 4:

Suelen aparecer problemas con los gr�ficos al jugar con la opci�n Suavizado 2x activada en los controladores de la tarjeta.
Para solucionar el problema, desactiva la opci�n Suavizado o bien selecciona Suavizado 4x mediante el controlador.

En Inicio -> Configuraci�n -> Panel de control

Selecciona el icono "PANTALLA"
Haz clic en la pesta�a "Configuraci�n"
Despu�s haz clic en el bot�n "Avanzada"

Busca la pesta�a con el nombre de tu tarjeta
A continuaci�n haz clic en el bot�n "Propiedades..."
En la pantalla "Par�metros de suavizado 3D"

Selecciona "Permitir que las aplicaciones controlen el modo de suavizado"
o bien
Selecciona "Seleccionar manualmente el modo de suavizado"
y "4x"








* Windows 2000 + tarjetas gr�ficas nVIDIA Geforce 4:

Hemos comprobado que con 2000 SP1 surgen algunos problemas con los gr�ficos o bien no se ejecuta el juego. T�cnicamente, el problema se puede resolver instalando el Service Pack 2 de Windows 2000.






* Tarjetas ATI:

Si no dispones de los �ltimos controladores ATI compatibles Directx 8.1 pueden aparecer problemas gr�ficos as� como un ralentizamiento del juego.

Controladores de tarjetas gr�ficas 3D

Se recomienda utilizar los controladores m�s recientes de la tarjeta gr�fica. Es preferible instalar los controladores de "Referencia" del fabricante del chipset en lugar de los controladores personalizados del fabricante de la tarjeta gr�fica o de los controladores WHQL certificados de Microsoft.

DirectX:
Per utilizzare LA PANTERA ROSA � necessario disporre di DirectX 8.1 per Microsoft.
Si consiglia pertanto di installare i pi� recenti driver delle schede grafiche e della scheda audio compatibili con DirectX 8.1.

Windows 2000 / XP:
Vi consigliamo di utilizzare i driver per Windows XP/2000 distribuiti dai produttori (ad esempio, i driver necessari al caricamento dei comandi dei componenti specifici), al posto dei driver Microsoft predefiniti, installati al momento della configurazione del computer.

Memoria:
Per prestazioni ottimali si consiglia di disporre di almeno 128 MB di memoria RAM.

Applicazioni compatibili:
Il gioco LA PANTERA ROSA � stata concepito per sfruttare al massimo le prestazioni del computer in cui � installato. Di conseguenza, si consiglia di uscire da tutte le applicazioni prima di lanciare LA PANTERA ROSA.

Spazio libero sul disco:
LA PANTERA ROSA richiede un minimo di 300 MB di spazio su disco rigido

Memoria grafica:
Per un corretto funzionamento, � necessaria una scheda grafica con almeno 8 MB di memoria. Il gioco LA PANTERA ROSA non potr� essere avviato su un computer che dispone di una scheda grafica con meno di 8 MB di memoria.

Installazione

Inserire il disco LA PANTERA ROSA nel lettore CD-ROM/DVD-ROM.
Se la funzione di esecuzione automatica � attiva, il programma di installazione viene eseguito automaticamente. Se la funzione di esecuzione automatica � disattivata, utilizzare Esplora risorse per accedere alle cartelle del CD-ROM LA PANTERA ROSA e lanciare manualmente il programma di installazione "setup.exe"

Se il computer nel quale si desidera installare il gioco non dispone di DirectX 8.1, � necessario provvedere all'installazione delle stesse prima di iniziare l'installazione del gioco. Dopo aver eseguito l'installazione di DirectX, potrebbe essere necessario riavviare il computer. Una volta riavviato Windows, continuare la procedura di installazione dalla fase precedente. L'installazione riprender� sia inserendo il CD nell'unit� se la funzione di esecuzione automatica � attiva sia facendo nuovamente clic su "setup.exe" da Esplora risorse.


Spazio occupato
LA PANTERA ROSA richiede 300 MB circa di spazio su disco rigido.

Disinstallazione

Dopo aver ultimato la disinstallazione di LA PANTERA ROSA, la cartella "data\Save" � ancora presente nel sistema. Eliminare la cartella manualmente.

Se la procedura di disinstallazione presenta difficolt� impreviste, potrebbe essere necessario aggiornare il sistema di installazione e di disinstallazione di Windows. Per effettuare l'aggiornamento, lanciare il file "update.exe", collocato nella cartella "update" del CD-ROM.

Dal menu Opzioni del gioco � possibile regolare il volume della musica e quello degli effetti sonori.

Anti-aliasing:
In LA PANTERA ROSA � possibile attivare o disattivare il sistema di anti-aliasing per migliorare l'aspetto grafico del gioco. Sui sistemi meno potenti si consiglia di non attivare questa funzione poich� potrebbe rallentare il funzionamento del gioco.
(Non disponibile per Geforce 4).

* Il gioco non parte o resta bloccato e mostra una schermata nera:
� necessario installare le versioni pi� recenti dei driver compatibili con DirectX 8.1 per la scheda grafica in uso.





* Schede grafiche nVIDIA Geforce 4 :

Se l'opzione Anti-aliasing 2x viene attivata dai driver della scheda, � possibile che durante lo svolgimento del gioco si verifichino problemi grafici.
Questi problemi possono essere risolti disattivando l'opzione Anti-aliasing oppure selezionando Anti-aliasing 4x dai driver.

Dal menu Start->Impostazioni->Pannello di controllo

Selezionare l'icona "SCHERMO"
Fare clic sulla scheda "Impostazioni"
Poi premere il pulsante "Avanzate"

Cercare la scheda dove compare il nome della scheda video in uso
Fare clic su "Propriet�" nella scheda "Parametri di anti-aliasing 3D"

A questo punto, selezionare "Consenti alle applicazioni del controller di funzionare in modalit� Anti-aliasing" oppure selezionare "Impostare manualmente la modalit� Anti-aliasing" e "4x"





* Windows 2000 + schede grafiche nVIDIA Geforce 4 :

Abbiamo verificato che con Windows 2000 SP1, si presentano alcuni problemi grafici o il gioco non viene avviato. Tecnicamente, questo problema pu� essere risolto solo installando il Service Pack 2 di Windows 2000.






* Schede ATI :

Se non si dispone dei driver ATI pi� aggiornati compatibili con DirectX 8.1, si potrebbero verificare problemi grafici e il rallentamento generale del sistema

Driver per schede grafiche 3D

Si consiglia di utilizzare le versioni pi� aggiornate dei driver per la scheda grafica in uso. Se possibile, utilizzare i driver di "Riferimento" dei produttori del chipset grafico piuttosto che quelli personalizzati dei produttori della scheda grafica o quelli certificati WHQL da Microsoft.
