For everyone who's asking for an update, I recommend Skillful Clothes. It adds stats to not only hats, but also some shirts and pants. The mod was updated to 1.6 quite recently.
Thank you so much for the recommendation! I've been checking this mod page every time I play my save to see if it has updated, so a similar mod is a lifesaver! The clothing buffs are so cool and seem fairly balanced!
Considering the author hasn't done anything since 2020, sadly it is unlikely that we will see an update from them converting it to 1.6. Our only hope that something similar happens is if someone else has the idea, or updates it themselves.
So this looks fun and I loved the idea but in practise I found some of the buffs too cheaty :( Mainly the Squire's hat - I started doing insane damage, and once I got the galaxy sword, over 300 damage and 900 for crits! I was one-shotting everything in the skull cavern and it was just too much.
Only problem is, when I removed the hat and uninstalled the mod... the damage buff is still there. I'm still doing insane damage. I can't find how to fix it, and the cheating feeling is ruining it for me, so I'm gonna have to abandon this file and start over :(
For future reference, hats that are put in the dresser/another type of chest update their statuses which is why the fix for "this effect isnt working!" is to "Put it in a dresser" The game just works that way and I have no idea why.
Just a warning, this mod has been causing me frequent crashes in multiplayer, usually when wearing hats that do not fit the current environment (eg. earmuffs in spring, fedora when not in mines/skull caverns)
Hey man, I'm hoping to change a tiny part of the mod personally, but I'm not sure to start with your pdb file.
I've got it all loaded up into Microsoft Visual Studio, but it's just a raw data dump, and I'm not sure how to convert it back into something readable.
What I'm hoping to do is add some stats for the Magic Cowboy hat. I like wearing it. Honestly thought trying out a tiny bit of modding could be fun, but it's seeming more and more difficult the deeper I get in. Help!
Edit - I figured it out and rebuilt the mod to include some buffs on the Magic Cowboy Hat! Learned how to use Visual Studio and a little bit of C++!
Any tips on how you managed this? I've managed to export the pdb file to visual studio and made the edit I wanted however the hat still holds the original stats
If you wish to make changes to the mod the best place to do so is from the source code. Here is a link to the GitHub: ?https://github.com/domsim1/stardew-valley-deluxe-hats-mod There are also instructions on how to make changes in the readme :)

Is there one? What are the requirements to play on mobile?
