Is this mod still maintained? Yep. The original author is no longer active, but I'm keeping it compatible with game/SMAPI updates and fixing critical issues. It's a "keeping the lights on" priority for other improvements though.
How do I get help / report an issue? Post a comment below! Please upload your SMAPI log and add a link to your message (even if you don't see any errors). This has useful info like what versions you have, which mods are installed, what happened in the game, etc.
Since I maintain many mods for other mod authors, I can't always answer every question here (often I'll be busy handling SMAPI or my own mods). If you can answer someone else's question, that's always appreciated!
Hi, I ran debug customize as instructed in the instructions and set my pet to shiba inu. I have multiple pets, the default dog, then bought a cat and a turtle from Marnie. My cat was changed to the shiba inu instead of the dog.

The upcoming Stardew Valley 1.6.4 adds two new console commands: debug setPreferredPet <type> [breed] debug changePet <name> <type> [breed] So in the next update, you'll be able to change a specific pet like changePet Mocha Dog Bouhm.PetDogMod_ShibaInu. Thanks for reporting it!
So I did the update, but my dog is now basic. The skin isn't over it anymore. I ended up deleting the update and putting the 2.0 back and now it works. So something is up with the 3.0 update

Breaking changes: If you previously used the mod, see use pet breeds in the readme to switch your dog to one of the new breeds.
In Stardew Valley 1.6, the mod can add a new pet type instead of just replacing the vanilla ones. So you can just run a quick command to switch to the new pet type.
hello :) i just want to let u know that for some reason i have the exact same dog in my game how appearedoutof nowhere i didn't download your mod so im just worried is there another mod that has the same dog cuz i was trying to know how did i gat the dog my xnb files are clean and i removed all my pet mods and i cant remove the dog at all
This mod just changes the pet's appearance. To add more pets, you'll need a mod like More Animals. (You can copy this mod's pet sprites into that mod to use them.)
Pulled the addon via Vortex today - jsons in main directory are missing for some reason (content.json, mainfest.json), I'm not sure if it's Nexus/Vortex or something else, but when I manually download it, all files are present in the archive, and it works perfectly fine.
