First things first, cool mod. Stardew Cosplayers everywhere thank you.

Important for Real Life: Save masks for people who need them: medical personnel trying to save lives. If your vulnerable a reusable mask may be a good idea (make sure to wash those as per their instructions!). If you already bought them & decide you don't need them as much as you thought: ask your local officials who might need them.
100% safe is you and everyone you live with staying home. If you have to go out, the recommendation is: to stay 6 feet apart, cover your mouth in your elbow, wash your hands thoroughly and frequently, wear gloves if you have some. (keep in mind medical professionals also need gloves)
Please help flatten the curve so this can die! Then, we can all get back to our regularly scheduled program that much sooner!
What HannaVictoria is saying is true, take care of each other out there and stay at home as much as possible. The best thing everyone can do to help out in this crisis is to practice social distancing.
My mod description is my poor attempt at a joke and should not be taken seriously.
Some do, some don't. It depends if they're designed for it.
At this point something is better than nothing depending on where you live. While it hasn't gotten too bad in a lot of areas, there are a few places where shortages have forced doctors to bringing in their personal belongings as substitute medical masks.
Pretty much every hospital in the country is accepting donations of dedicated medical supplies (and cleaning/sanitation supplies)
Some places have begun accepting hand-made masks. People are trying to learn how to make the best safest masks with what materials they have/can get.
