Ever since SDV went multiplayer and mods now need content patcher, I haven't got the time to rework everything for the new versions. So my general rule now is as long as somebody private messages me first and asks for permission. I'm okay with people making content patcher updates. Just link and credit my orginal page.
I have made a CP pack for the cave that also edits out the use of the now obsolete 'mines' tilesheet (this is what broke many cave maps in the new update). I will add in the farm itself as well and upload when I get a chance. This was my first farm ever in SDV, and to this day I still use the cave, so I'd like to see it live on!
Do you still happen to have the content patcher version for the farm cave? I really love this mod and would love to still be able to use it! I can't seem to find any other place that has uploaded a CP mod for this.
Is there any chance of a CP form of this mod? Either by you, or would it be acceptable if a request for a CP version was made and filled by someone else? I really like the cave portion and would like to use it without replacing the actual file.
Also, out of curiosity, how do you make these map mods? Is there an actual program or is it all by coding?
Quick question does this mod replace standard farm or the forest farm? This is really important because I have another mod for a forest farm that I still play actively and don’t want to lose.
Because .7z is a common compression file for game mods. I'm not sure if you can upload .xnb's to nexus without compressing them. Use the program 7 zip to open them, its free and easy to use.
Can you still get mushrooms/fruitbats? I started a new save and after acquiring fruitbats, nothing ever showed up in the cave. On a save i had perviously before installing this mod, i still had my mushrooms. Is this a bug, or is that just not a feature?
This seems to be a bug when starting a new save with the cave mod installed before unlocking the bats/mushroom. On my main file I had the mushroom cave before I made my changes to the map and they continued to work just fine. I do not know what causes this or how to fix it. My only suggestion is to only install the cave map untill after unlocking the cave. Perhaps try unstalling the cave map and see if fruit will show up again. I have never tested the fruit bats/mushrooms on a new save as I don't have the time to replay trou a new game and unlock the cave again.
Edit: I added a warning in the main post. Sorry about this
V1.0 Redid the file structure of the zips, Farm and Caves maps have been separated into their own zips. Added some more visual tweaks to Cave map, secret paths + areas.
Added mod to see what it was like removed because i liked the aesthetic of the central large lake in the forest map but still there is no water so im kinda stuck with this now.
Are you saying that after trying my mod for the Forest Farm map, then removing it. It has permanently removed the large lake in the Original forest map?
edit: So following what I assume where the steps you took. I started a new file with my mod pre-installed, I then log-out and loaded the original map with the lake. What happened is the grass/rocks/logs, everything that was on the 'paths' layer in the map file stayed after the map was changed. Resulting in the lake being covered up in grass. On my map I added long grass to the areas where the lakes where, to cover the unnatural empty spaces when I removed them. This is not a bug with my file, its a issue with how the game spawns in the junk rubble.
What this means to you, to fix it. Is , if you just started the file, delete it and restart. If you put in some time into it. Clear out all trees, grass, rocks around those areas. You don't need to clear the whole farm just the spot where the lake is. I only added grass to those spots, but just to be safe. When trying out new farm maps, to see if you like them, do it on a new test file.
If there is any bugs you or anyone else finds please use the bug report forum, I have up top. Its what its meant for not the posts section.
P.S You make being stuck with my map sound like a bad thing.
