I did actually attempt to do this when I created this mod. Unfortunately, after spending several days working on it, including creating new tiles to allow it to be expanded, due to the mechanics of how the submarine works I was unable to sucessfully get it to work. I suspect that this is one of the areas where certain things were hardcoded rather than left to the map files, and as such will need someone with a better understanding of modding the game code to get it to work.
