Common Issues
Updating the config options with GMCM doesn't apply the changes. This happens to me all the time. Sometimes changes to UI elements with Generic Mod Config Menu will not apply until you load into a new area or even restart the game. To rule this out, close and restart your game.
Some things look discolored. When it comes to text colors, health/stamina bar meters, or other UI elements being drawn by the game's code, they can't be fixed without a C#/Harmony mod. For the text, you can enable the "Small Font Toggle" in the config file, but some of it may still look discolored or it may break the font for other languages. Otherwise, please use this Naver mod. It doesn't require an account to download.
The text in my language is messed up. Make sure that the "Small Font Toggle" is set to disabled. If the colors are weird, please see the Naver mod linked above.
Known Mobile Problems
Changing the options for the title menu doesn't apply and the words on the buttons actually disappear. This is likely an issue with the version of SMAPI. Force closing the game and reopening it fixes this.
Red errors in the console for stuff that can't be changed. Because we've found no reason to separate mobile into it's own mod since the number of differences between mobile and PC where UI is concerned is not that many, there will occasionally be things that show up as not able to be loaded for mobile. The most common one I've seen is the dark paper for letters not loading when looking at mail. That's a 1.5 addition and not included in mobile yet. It's safe to ignore those messages.
does anyone know of any reason the "add to existing stack button" wouldn't be pulling in this mod? i was looking through the mod files and can't see any specific reason it wouldn't be. it's the only button i still see in vanilla style.
If you look inside the "compat" folder in the mod, you'll find some images you can use to replace the ones in GMCM. I'll look into Better Chests for the next time I update the mod.
Edit: I got permission to share it from the mod author, so here are the hunger/thirst bars for Survivalistic - Hunger and Thirst. Love the mod. Super cute! However, I do have a question. When you edited the mod back in February did you happen to do anything to the title screen bird? I've noticed that since the update that Elle's Town Animals mod replacing the title bird feature no longer works with this interface mod.
UPDATE: Nevermind. I managed to get it to work via copying and pasting the Elle flying birdy into the tileset XD I know it doesn't matter since it's literally just the title screen but the cute birdy fits my aesthetic lol

Hi! You can either add Vintage Interface as a false dependency in Elle's Town Animals' manifest.json or manually change the picture for the Title Screen image in Vintage Interface. I recommend the false dependency route so that you don't have to change the image every time this mod updates.

I will probably remove the bird along with other unnecessary elements that cause conflicts in the next update, but this would be the best temporary fix. Sorry for the trouble!

hi, i also churned up some support for better crafting's right-hand buttons to better match the vintage v2 brown interface. this has support for the 0.13.0 update use however you like
Thank you all for the help! I won't be able to add this to the mod until I have a full weekend off from work. However, if you have permission from the authors of other mods, you are welcome to post them on Nexus as separate mods like others have done for things like Economy mod or Love of Cooking (on Kaya's blog). Or if the author is willing to incorporate the option into the mod itself (like Walk of Life), that is even better so I don't have to keep up with the changes to 500 mods every time they update.
Is there any way this could be made compatible wth Diverse Stardew Valley? I'd love to have your lovely bundle icons with DSV's character desgins for the Bulletin Board bundles
In the manifest.json where the Dependencies are listed, you can set this mod as a false dependency to force the bundle sprites in DSV to be the ones showing in game. There are several others there so just follow the pattern and add this:
