    this mod has made leveling up an actual challenge! thank you!
    I'd like to request a separate option that all XP below 1point can be rounded up to 1point. I like to lower xp to about 50% the gain for most skills, and 25% for farming and fishing. However, if XP is not rounded, a lot actions will result in likely 0XP, such as breaking rocks on the farm, receiving trash, seaweed, etc, for fishing, and chopping down tree stumps. It may not seem like much, but I'd love that SEPARATE option. I say separate as I am aware that XP can be rounded to the nearest point, and up to 1XP if below zero, however, I like the % chance that XP MIGHT round up some of the time. (Just adds a bit of fun and flavour to the game)

      I realize this is quite old now, and I'm not sure if I fully understand the request, but have you tried the unofficial update linked in the posts below?

      It has an option in the settings to always round partial XP up to the nearest whole number, but also the default setting to use "chance based partial XP" might be what you're looking for. With the default setting and with global XP gain set to 50%, if you do an action which normally gives 1 XP, then the mod will give you a 50% chance for 1 XP, and a 50% chance for 0 XP. Or if you set the global XP gain to 30%, then doing the action would have a 30% chance to give 1 XP, and a 70% chance to get 0 XP, etc.

    Hey, I am not a coding kind of person. Can someone please post an example of what I should plug in and where? This mod looks super cool
    and I cant fine any like it anywhere else.

      Sorry if this is coming a bit too late, but there's actually an unofficial update for 1.6 that ChrisOrDave84 has made, mentioned in the comments below.

      You can get it from The Stardew Unofficial Mods thread or on github here, with the uncompiled code for checking as well. Other than compatibility with Stardew Valley 1.6, the changes are:

      • Integration for Generic Mod Config Menu to put detailed tooltips in-game for the various settings.
      • Allows converting partial XP gains like 0.5 XP into a % chance to gain an XP point, to more accurately reflect the chosen Experience Factors instead of always rounding up to the nearest whole number (can be toggled back to the "rounding" method if desired, but will now round to the nearest positive number instead of always rounding up, with a lower cap of 1xp like before).
      • Now works properly for the

        introduced in Stardew Valley 1.6, and can have additional Factors applied to those on top of the Experience Factors

    Hey I don't know if this is the best place to ask this but I've updated this mod to work for 1.6 for my own purposes. It would be nice to be able to share this with everyone but I noticed the permissions for this file require permission for reuploading/uploading modified versions. So this is me asking for permission. Or I could send you a link to the github fork where I've made the change if you want to integrate and reupload it yourself?

      I noticed in my tests that it didn't appear to quite work correctly with

      gains (seemed to increase them OK, but could not decrease them), so I've made a version that seems to work properly for those as well. I added in more config settings for adjusting them specifically (overrides vanilla's formula, which currently is a flat 0.5 multiplier to all of them instead of just for Farming as the 1.6.4 patch notes state EDIT: Fixed in 1.6.6). Also added in integration for Generic Mod Config Menu to put detailed tooltips in-game for the various settings.

      Posted in the same The Stardew Unofficial Mods thread. I'm not up to speed on github, but can supply the (probably sloppy) code files if that's helpful.

      EDIT: Also now updated with an option (set by default) to convert partial XP gains like 0.5 XP into a % chance to gain an XP point, to more accurately reflect the chosen Experience Factors instead of always rounding up to the nearest whole number. Latest github link here.

    i hope you update this mod for update 1.6 i like the very slow grind to just lvl up my skils.

    Fantastic mod! default leveling speeds are fine for a first playthrough, but I find this mod is excellent for extending the lifespan of the gameplay.

    Would you consider adding support for the new cooking mod, Love of Cooking?

      Bit late, but the Love of cooking mod's cooking skill rate can be changed on it's own. Just find the cookingSkillValues.json from the love of cooking's asset folder and change the GlobalExperienceRate to what you want. Can use similar values as the other skills in this mod so they go along with each other.
