I use it strictly for the quartz option. All my save files have crab pots everywhere so I end up with tons of refined quartz after processing through the recycling machine. One file actually has 20+ stacks of 999 refined quartz... With this mod you can turn that refined quartz back into regular quartz which you can then take to the desert trader and trade for bombs. (5 quartz for a bomb) Sure I can craft the bomb with 4 iron ores and one coal but iron is much more useful than refined quartz. And trading 5 quartz is cheaper than buying the bomb from the dwarf. Or you can gift them. Think there are 10-12 NPCs that like quartz whereas everyone except Clint (neutral) dislikes or hates refined quartz.

only downside, the name of the recipes is not the name of the items, but the word "mining" followed by a number going from 1 to 9.
