I'm really glad this got updated, I do have an idea, I don't know if you'd like to try it or not, but I think it would be neat to have like a woodbox or woodstand that could be filled with logs, and then just activating it would give enough logs to start the fire. Kind of like the silos do with the hay.
@Khatarina I also really like that idea, sadly I have zero clue where to begin implementing something like that lol I'm really not that knowledgeable with C# so additional features probably won't happen from me.
I wonder if anyone knows of a mod for one of those log holders that people put by their fireplaces irl. I think it would be neat to be able to fill it up and then just click on it and withdraw the 5 pieces of wood to start the fire without having to use a chest. Kind of like how the silos work.
The latest update did change the formatting for all CP packages, so that's probably it. I might see if I can do a quick update and ask the OP for permission
I'm trying to take a look at it now, I managed to get Anything Anywhere and Farm Cave Framework to work in 1.6.9 but this one might be a little beyond my current skillset 😅
Sorry at the time I wasn't able to get the mod working correctly. I feel a lot more confident now though and I'm looking at it again.
EDIT: 12/18. I've got it working! I'm just working on a few optimizations to the code I add/changed. I've also mostly patched out accidentally activating the fireplace without consuming wood, though it will still be possible. I should have it uploaded tonight, provided I don't come across any glaring issues. :)
I love this mod because it really adds to the immersion. One little thing is, some days I can lit the fireplace as in the base game with no need for firewood, so I go outside and enter my house again and the mod is working as usual. It doesn't bother me though, I just wanted to inform you about this.
same here. if i have wood in my hands the fireplace will take it but i can light the fireplace without the wood in-hand and without consuming any firewood anyway.
Newbie here, testing the mod. Yes, is happening here too: sometimes the fireplace asks 5 pieces of wood and doesn't light (as should be) but if I insist clicking in it, it will light up even if I have nothing in my hands. Tried to remove and replace the fireplace to fix the behavior but didn't worked, it still lights up with nothing if I insist clicking.
I am using a wireless Gamesir T4 pro as controller (Xbox), mouse and keyboard (normal ones, with cables) to play. I don't know if that can have any influence in the fireplace behavior, however. EDIT: I am playing through Steam (just in case this information can help)
It's been quite a while, but I seem to remember this working with Automate? It doesn't seem to be working now if so. And getting the wood to be consumed is a bit hit or miss as well. Log: https://smapi.io/log/e9bf83d05d604e528c4020ac89e634a7
Why wouldn't it work with Automate? Do you want to know, if you can let Automate place wood into the fireplace? Since the fireplace is not a container, this will not work and also does not fit the idea of the mod. There should be not compatibility issue.
Are you using a controller? The "Android Version" of the mod uses a different way of handling the input (using harmony) and it might work better for you. I don't have any problems with getting the wood to be consumed.
Previously I (thought) I could use a chest next to the fireplace, set to use with automate, and it would automatically light the fire as long as there was enough fuel.
And no, I'm using keyboard/mouse, on Win 10 Pro. External mouse from Logitech if that matters. Sometimes when I click while holding the wood, it will light without consuming the wood at all. I can try the Android version and let you know if there's any difference though!
I may be crazy so let me know if I'm missing something obvious, but isn't there no fireplace on the beach map? I just got a penalty because I didn't light the fireplace while it was raining during my first spring, but I'm using the beach map and don't see any fireplaces to light.

I'm reasonably sure everything works again but I barely understand C# so it may not be perfect. Feel free to reach out if you run into any issues!
Unofficial Working Fireplace for Stardew Valley 1.6.14
I will remove this at the author's request!

Thank you so much

I might implement something that makes refueling the fireplace easier in the late game.
