I love this mod alongside the composts, pests, and cultivation mod. I have a couple hundred mods I run currently with many crop content packs and this mod works fine with everything else. It makes early game play fresh again. Thanks.
So, I'm not sure why, but I don't get a config file generated for this mod. I did when I first installed it, but it has since disappeared. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling.
The mod IS working -- I can't buy any seeds! However, I would like to change the config to exclude some things I had originally allowed.
Any idea what I can do? (again, uninstalling and reinstalling didn't work ... I use ModDrop).
the file should be generated as soon as smapi loads the mod. Maybe the access rights of the folder are wrong and don't allow smapi to put the file in the folder. Also, the mod has two folders. Maybe you checked the wrong one. You can create the config.json file in the SeedsAreRare folder yourself and put the following text in: { "exclude_rare_seed": false, "exclude_traveling_merchant": false, "exclude_oasis": false, "exclude_pierre": false, "exclude_night_market": false, "exclude_egg_festival": false }
The Secret Gourmet mod, because I really enjoy it but it revolves entirely around specific seeds so it's pretty much impossible to use with Seeds are rare.
Actually, would it be possible to play this mod without the "better mixed seeds" mod? Tried to count fast whether every crop actually could be obtained in some other way. Travelling chart sells random crops... Hmmm.
Hey, I finally changed the lines you mentioned about the seeds and will upload the new version as soon as I know everything works with the new version of Stardew .Valley. Thank you for pointing out the seed references. I think that you probably can play it without better mixed seeds.
I actually did test it without "better mixed seeds" or with configured "better mixed seeds" (having only "single-harvest"-seeds and all those. Gives quite a challenge, but does work.
I love the extra challenge I'm getting from adding "Seeds are rare" and "Compost Pests and Cultivation" but I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't buy Strawberry seeds during the Egg Festival, since buying those seeds is the only reason I used to attend the festival to begin with. Do you have any plans to add a config option to disable the mod for the other festivals like you did for the Night Market?
Thanks for making this, wanted a bit more of a challenge when it comes to doing the farming part of SDV without bricking the game. This mod makes it a nice sweet spot of difficulty since you won't be able to so easily gain access to cash crop seeds early on.
