Welcome to Froststar's Tiny Kitchen!
Does it bother you that Grandpa left you his pride and joy - his farm - with a crappy empty farmhouse? Did the man not have a kitchen?! And what about your belongings from your old life? Did you leave it all behind? Surely you'd have brought SOME of your favorite furniture and decor with you, right?
This mod has two versions that provide answers to those questions, providing deeper immersion for the game.
Basic Version
Comes with the default furniture available on the Standard Farm, rearranged to make room for the tiny kitchen in the back left corner. I added one extra chair and one more window for aesthetic reasons. All furniture is able to be moved, so if our decorating tastes differ it's not a problem ;)
Cozy Version
This version comes with a fully furnished cozy farmhouse, pleasingly arranged to allow space for the tiny kitchen in the top corner. All furniture is able to be moved, so if our decorating tastes differ it's not a problem ;)
DOWNLOAD ONLY ONE VERSION OF THIS MOD, or else neither of them will load!
How To Install:
- Download and install SMAPI and Content Patcher
- Download and unzip the mod file (pick which version you want)
- Copy the mod folder into Stardew Valley/Mods
- Load the game using SMAPI and enjoy!
This mod is safe to use on a new or existing save!
- If you start a new game, it will provide you with the custom furniture shown in the images for this mod.
- If you add the mod into an existing game, the furniture you already had will remain, and no changes will be made except for the addition of the kitchen in the top left corner. The only issue you may find is if you already had any furniture in the top left corner of the farmhouse, you'd just have to pick it up and move it so it doesn't defy physics and overlap the kitchen.
How to Uninstall:
- Delete the mod folder from your Stardew Valley/Mods folder. The game will revert to the original greenhouse layout.
** Please note that this greenhouse is an expansion, so if you do not remove all crops, items, and decor from the area outside of the bounds of the default game's greenhouse before uninstalling, the objects WILL remain in place and be visible in the black abyss. I recommend completely removing all objects and crops from the greenhouse before uninstalling.
*** If you're switching to a different greenhouse mod, the same as above will be true - make sure you clean up your mess and have a blank slate in game before you swap to avoid any headaches!
Potential Mod Conflicts:
- This mod replaces the map for the interior of the beginning farmhouse. Any other mods that attempt to do the same will not work with my mod.
- It also replaces the furniture you're given at the start of the game, regardless of which farm type you choose. Any other mods that attempt to do the same will not work with my mod.
Otherwise, this mod should be conflict free, as it's an extremely basic Content Patcher mod. This mod should not interfere with any mod that edits the upgraded farmhouses, so long as the other mod does not contain a farmhouse.tmx replacement.
Future Plans:
Listen. We all know that I'm a slave to my AuDHD brain, and I go where the dopamine takes me. I very well could disappear from the modding scene for years (again). BUT! If I keep going and you catch me on a day when the dopamine is here, I have some ideas to expand this beloved little modlet.
This was one of my most popular mods, and the one I got asked to update the most. If it generates enough interest again and enough people ask for it, I may be willing to work on it further to customize the furniture variety. For example, the vanilla game gives you different furniture at the start of a new game depending on the type of farm that you choose. I could make a version of this mod for each of those farm types, with customized furniture for each one if enough people want that option.
Also, if you need a zero furniture version to use with another mod that replaces the starting furniture, let me know and I will post a clean version without any furniture for you to use. The only issue you may find is if the other mod places any furniture in the top left corner of the farmhouse, in which case you'd just have to pick it up and move it so it doesn't defy physics and overlap the kitchen.
Froststar's Open Source Maintenance Policy:
Please note that I have not been active in the SDV modding community for several years, and only check back at random when the urge strikes. If SDV gets an update that breaks this mod, I give my full permission to anyone who wants to make a compatible version. You're welcome to share a link in this mod's Posts. Please just credit this original mod when doing so.
