Intention:
Incentivize the player to cook, manage, and eat food as part of their strategy.
About the mod:
Adds buffed recipes using vanilla, Cornucopia, and Animal Husbandry ingredients. Developed these recipes for personal use on my next playthrough, and publishing them as my very first mod as practice, so be warned that these recipes might not be "balanced" in a way that will be compatible with everyone's playstyle. If you just want to go fast as soon as you unlock cooking and keep going faster as you unlock more ingredients, or if you want to eat cute and kinda-OP buffed food every morning that lasts all day, this might be the recipe mod for you. Some foods make you go uncomfortably fast. I hope you enjoy playing with it!
All recipes available at the start, progression to better buffs locked only behind when you get access to milk/eggs, meat, seasonal crops, machines, etc. All have the same low sell price and average health/energy, and last longer than the normal waking hours in case you have time paused indoors for decorating. You'll probably want to bring something else into the mines with you.
Mostly focused on poor-man's/spring-accessible foods and then progressing to more cafe, bistro, or breakfast-style foods. Decoration-wise, they'll probably fit more with more desaturated/earthy interiors like DaisyNiko's, but I didn't have any particular color scheme in mind. Feel free to leave constructive suggestions on the art - I might change some things because I've never done pixel art before.
For optional guidance, I included some info about which recipes are easiest to attain in the Articles tab.
If you enjoy playing with this so much that you would like to leave a tip, I have a ko-fi.
Install:
Manual Install: Download, unzip, and add to your mods folder. Idk how Vortex works.
To Update: Delete previous CookingDaily folder. Install new folder the usual way.
Support/Compatibility
I will try to support and update to fix bugs, but to be honest I don't know much about modding. I think there are a few foods with names that others have also used, but this mod is just using its own IDs for CP, so I don't believe there should be any conflicts? If anyone runs into any, I'll try to see what I did wrong.
I don't know what the Cornucopia team has in the works for their future cooking mod, but I will keep an eye out and potentially update recipes to be more immersive. For example, if the cooking rollout includes an update to their artisan machines processing cassava into tapioca, I'll replace cassava with tapioca in the bubble tea, etc.
SVE: It appears to work fine with SVE as Cornucopia has resolved Butter and Pickle conflicts since SVE introduced them.
Languages/Next:
This mod was made with i18n, so it will support other languages if anyone wants to translate. Chinese and Japanese translations included. I might do a Russian translation someday if I have time.
If I have more free time, I will create the bourbon & gin cocktail recipe mod I wish existed. 🥃🍸
