So, a bit of trial and error, I found the issue. In the mod folder, delete the .DS_Store file. Then rename the 'example' file to ChristmasTheDecorating. Last, open that file (Notepad ++ is best) and you will see that the file says it is the Dexter store. Change the line: "name": "Dexter’s Furniture Store", to "Name": "Christmas: The Decorating", I had been trying to get this file and the one that has the decorations from in the game (Holiday Furniture). I had been using the "JSON Editor" mentioned on the modding wiki, but it is super limited. Got my software engineer hubby to take a look and he showed me to use the NP++ instead. I figured out the rest on my own. :)

I love this! Regarding the issue with creating a "present" item you're happy with - have you tried a recolour of the box of parsnip seeds you get on Day 1/Year 1?
I hadn't considered that. The issue is what I really want is a variety of sizes and shapes, but whenI fiddle with them, it just looks weird to me...plus trying to make it have a pattern, even if it's just stripes...doesn't look right to me either.
Plus, the muse for that ran off to Tijuana with a lover....and I have no idea when it'll be back.

....that's very odd. I haven't messed with this file in years....I have no idea why that happened.
Change the line:
