I don't know if maybe I'm missing something obvious (I'm quite new to Stardew modding) but how to you change to the different colour versions you have for this mod? When I downloaded it the base versions that appeared in game were the white ones and I'd like to change to the red barn and green coop, but I'm not sure what I actually need to write into the config to make it work. I tried "Red" for barn and "Green" for coop and the barn looks almost correct then, but the colours are much darker, and the coop looks really strange and mostly black no matter how I change it. I'm asking because I really like the light beige trim on the red version of your barn but there is no way to achieve that with the painting in-game. Thank you so much!
Thanks for downloading my mod! Sorry if this answer is long, but i hope it helps. If these steps don't fix your problem please share a screenshot and link to to your smapi log.
There are two things you can check:
First, if you want the red barn (trim is white on that one), your config.json lines that refer to the barn should look like this (Capital R on Red): "Updated Barn Design": "true", "Barn Style": "Red",
Second, if your barn building had any paint customizations at Robin's (even before installing this mod), use Robin's paint menu again to reset them by clicking the swatch with the dotted outline. Do this for the "Building," "Trim" and "Roof"
The buildings in this image are the default Green/White/Red styles with no custom paint applied:
Robin's custom paint sliders have pretty limited range in the default game, but there are mods that will increase the color range you can achieve. My screenshots attached only used the vanilla game sliders. I haven't used these mods myself but this one's on my list to check out: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/22807
Side note: Another mod to try as you get deeper into modding is Generic Mod Config Menu to help edit any of your config files via the in-game menu, it's easier than editing the config text files and reloading your game.
hello! so i downloaded this and haven't unzipped it yet, i noticed it asks to replace the original barn and coop art files and this just makes me nervous because what if the mod breaks or isn't compatible with future updates? will i just not be able to get the old paints back? sorry if this is a silly question, just got a little nervous!
Hello! Thanks for downloading my mod! So this mod works like any other Content Patcher pack - it temporarily paints over the original game textures during gameplay. It does not overwrite or replace any game files. Make sure you're installing it in your 'Stardew Valley/Mods' folder. I'm not sure what you mean by "it asks to replace..." Try re-downloading the mod from Nexus and unzipping it into your /mods/ folder. (It should only pop-up a prompt about overwriting if you already have this mod installed and it's overwriting itself).
i love this!! i've been looking for a mod to make the buildings on my farm to look prettier, but i've been struggling to find a mod that fits nicely with the game's art...and then you posted this mod! thank you!
heads up, though, and idk if this is me doing something wrong or something with the mod itself, but my ginger island farm (and the obelisk) also got a make over lol (tbh not even a deal breaker to me because my main farm looks so pretty, but i wanted to let you know just the same).
Those buildings and assets in your screenshot are in my mod "Island Resort Furniture." You must have that mod installed. You can disable the buildings in the Island mod config.
love these so much!! will you do the premium variants for SVE? Edit: I'm dumb, just saw the separate mod for them lol rework the question then - will you do the rest of the farm buildings? also! maybe the tiled roof variants :3?
Thank you! Yes, eventually I will add more of the farm buildings and will update this mod and the SVE Premuim buildings when I do! Wood/tiled roofs is on the long to-do list :)
These are absolutely stunning work!! I can't wait for the rest of the buildings!! I am hoping you would consider merging all the buildings in one mod when you are done releasing all of them! I hope you have a wonderful week ahead of you! ( ◜‿◝ )♡
