I tried doing what you suggested with the drag and drop but for the Blue and White trim house, and I'm still having a hard time getting it to work Not sure if I'm missing a step..
Sorry, I haven't been on lately. It shouldn't, since it's just a retexture. You'll probably just have to click around where the lumber pile use to be. No coding was involved to affect any mechanics for quests and what not.
This mod looks really awesome For some reason though, I'm not able to get it to work. I just wanted the red house, and extracted the specific folder in the directory you advised. My house was upgraded to level 1 already, however, it didn't change. I then upgraded it to level 2, but still didn't change.
Just downloaded it from Nexus to make sure everything was included, it's working on my end. Just find where you downloaded the zip file, open it up, open Red House folder and just drag and drop the houses.xnb into \Stardew Valley\Content\Buildings. Should ask if you want to replace an existing one and say yes. Then, it should work just fine.
If you see a Red House folder in your Stardew Valley\Content\Buildings folder, you can delete it, I just do the drag and drop method instead of extracting directly into SDV, since I include pictures and what not in the zip files.
That's what I did, or at least that what I thought I did lol! Anyway, I re-downloaded and dragged the file, and it worked. Not sure why it didn't before, but it is now!
