Sup y'all, it's me again, but there's no update this time unfortunately. If you're interested in reading something of a blog post from me then read on, otherwise just skip to the last paragraph. If you've been following this mod since release then I probably got you used to weekly updates before I stopped updating this past month and a half. I apologize for that, but the burnout of programming for 8 hours a day on top of my serving job was bearing down pretty hard on me. I realized my creative engine was running on fumes when I found myself just surfing the web half the time I laid out for myself to be programming. Obviously, I took a break so I could let myself do some of the things I had been wanting to do since I graduated. Going to the gym, hanging out with friends more, learning Spanish, listening to new music, etc (also just learning how to manage my time better in general). I'm slowly getting programming back into the pretty busy schedule that is life, but I'm definitely not going to be going as fast as I was before. In addition, I'll be heading to GDC (the Game Developer's Conference) this next week so I won't really be programming at all during that time. But if anyone reading this is also going to GDC or just lives in San Francisco and wants to hang out for a bit, feel free to hit me with a PM! I'd love to spend some time chatting about life and games.
As for progress on the mod, I was part way through working on some new AI features when I started my hiatus and that's where I've picked back up again recently. I'm working on getting a "mage" AI behavior pattern working that can be used for certain combat-oriented characters not named Alex. Because I'm still working on developing and balancing my adult time management skills, I don't have a planned release date for this. Beginning to mid April is a rough guess though. As always, a big thanks for taking time to enjoy my mod to all the new people I haven't responded to in the last month and a half!
Hey, it's good to hear from you again! I was starting to get worried since you 'disappeared', but now I'm glad to see that you're doing well and taking time for yourself. :)
Hey Dude, glad you're back! I think nobody here expect Weekly updates and stuff as long as your work-life balance is fucked up like that. Take your time and watch your mental health, last thing we want is that you are so stresses that you're forced to give up on that project <3
life happens. i've just come back to playing sdv and noticed the mod hadn't been updated. any thoughts on if you'll be coming back to this project? I liked having abby follow me through the dungeons.
I appreciated a lot your RPG-style mod, I like this style so much... and...
I read your mod description and liked a lot about those buffs and perks, I had a idea about Abi and Sebastian perks, if may I can suggest and maybe you like it for a future update, (I read your entire text, and undertsand your reasons), I would like to suggest a looting perk as Abi and Sebas share same buff, they could give player a looting perk (this reminds minecraft enchantment lol).
Like, Looting can be scaled as Luck skill from other mod increase, making it increase the chance of doubling lootings. From 5% at level 1 Luck, up to 50% at level 10 Luck (+5% per level). This could affect drop chance as well, by half value, like a Prismatic Shard having 1% chance of drop from monster, it can increased up to +25% by Looting perk (total 26% drop chance).
This could be a huge work to make very consistent and well implemented, but that's my suggest for Abi and Sebas perks, a looting perk to double loot in a chance and increase loot chances, as they have a combat buff.
Therefore, I wish you a great job for your future new mods coming soon :D
This mod was one of the greatest. Came back after a couple years of not playing only to find literally every mod but this one got an update, now this one is no longer compatible :( I understand life gets in the way, but I really wish modders would allow someone to take over if they can't maintain a mod.
