    Okay so I made a config that includes all fish. And by all I mean including legendary and submarine / sewers.

    I only put them in "all Waters" though, I didn't want to go through the hussle of going thorugh each area seperately...

    I also added both Algae and Seaweed both as catchable and trash since it is so common.

    Maybe this helps some people even though Stardew is so old now :)

    If anyone wants help converting their config.json file to the new layout. Simply download the 'BetterCrabPotsConfigUpdater' in the files tab, and follow the ReadMe.txt that is in that folder.

    Hi, I have made mod similar to this but it still falls short compare to the existing one as I make this mod for me for easier catching crab pot fish so I'm still maintaining the vanilla function of the crab pot. I am new in modding and have no knowledge or experience in coding so if there are errors, feel free to tell me in the comment section of my mod link below. I have run the mod and smapi shows no error. The mod also works as I expect. Thank you.

    Hello, I like your mod very much, meanwhile there are few custom configuration mods about "Crab Pot" on the Internet. Please allow me to make a small suggestion. I prefer to add two input parameters: inputBait and catchTime. To achieve that the fish species or quality caught by "Magic Bait" are better than normal bait, or have a shorter time.
    By the way, I really hope that the updated MOD can still support Stardew Valley V1.5.6 and SMAPI 3.15.0. In any case, thank you very much for bringing us the nice MOD.

    I adored this mod because I always forget about my crab pots. So I'm a little bummed it's not compatible with the 1.6 update (as of yet if ever). If I knew how, I'd take over if the creator is no longer here on Nexus or simply don't have time to update it. But I don't know how to mod (don't even know where to start) and I'm afraid of breaking it.

      If you are really interested in learning how to make mods, and if this one is open source, there are actually guides for modding in Stardew Valley. And as far as I know the modders are connected via Discord and may help you. And the best thing is: you can't destroy mods, which are currently not working. 🙈
      I for myself play with the thought of learning how to mod, too, but have to many unfinished projects in RL at the moment.

    hi, thank you for this nice mod. It just seem not to trigger the "master angler" achievements. Do I miss something ? (example : I have catch mussel or periwinkle, but they are still grayed out in my fish collection).
    EDIT : I verified : removing the mod and using the crabpot "normally" allows the fishing achievements back. Do you see what can be done ?

    can you add a option to change the crafting cost crabpot to the config? i just think 3 iron bars a little much for just 1 crabpot.

    first of all the mod is good & i like it, but in the end it's just cause too much hassle while you have to edit config file especially if you have the modded fish

    i think instead using ITEM ID's why not combined it with CATEGORIES ID in config file like the custom cask mod config file
    i think with CATEGORIES ID we can catch all fish and it's easier, if someone who want to catch all fish just put
    ?"Category": -4,
    "Chance": 1,
    "Quantity": 1
    in config file and it will detect all fish even if you have modded fish and if someone who just want to catch certain fish in certain area they also can use ITEM ID's

    i hope the author update this mod or someone remake it

      Is there a way we could make this work with Modded fish? I think you're getting somewhere but Id love to have all fish accessible from mods like SVE, RSV, more new fish, etc.
