I'm not sure why, but the 1.6 version of this mod isn't working for me. I haven't touched the GUI or config at all, but the markers usually aren't on the rocks, and the rocks that *are* highlighted don't have the ladder under them. Thing is, I'm not sure why this is happening? I'm using the latest update, and I even deleted my config to let SV make a brand new one like one comment here said to do. But it still isn't working properly :/
Are they not covering stones and moving around in a weird way? If so, check your game settings. If zoom is set to 100% and UI zoom is set to anything other than 100% there seems to be a bug when drawing on the world. I've opened an issue for this here: https://github.com/Pathoschild/SMAPI/issues/936
The current workaround is simply setting zoom to anything other than 100% OR if you want zoom at 100% you will have to set UI zoom to 100% as well.
If that's not the issue. Try reinstalling the mod entirely to make sure you're on the latest version (1.4.4).
I'm enticed to download this mod, but a green square seems somewhat immersion breaking.. do you have any plans on changing it to something more vanilla-esque, such as a speech bubble with a question mark or ladder? I've never created a mod in my life so I have no idea how difficult it would be to execute that, just simply an idea I had ::)
Check the readme at https://github.com/yuri-moens/LadderLocator
There are options to change the tint of the stones or use a cracked sprite instead of a rectangle. They're harder to spot though. Other than that I don't currently have any plans to implement other ways of displaying the correct stones.
Love this mod, been a staple addition to my game, but I'd like to make a suggestion.
Sometimes, when in the ice cavern layer, depending on WHERE the ladders spawn, it can be a little difficult to actually see the green outline on the white background, they blend together.
Can I suggest that the outline change to something that is more easily visible, at least on the ice cavern level? The other levels are fine, it's just the ice cavern that's an issue. The green outline is not immediately noticeable in situations like this unless you're actively looking.
It's not exactly what you're asking but in the config.json you can change the color and the opacity. Setting HighlightAlpha to 1 should make the green clear even on the blue background. If that's not enough you can edit HighlightRectangleRGBA to change it to whatever color you'd like. More info in the readme here: https://github.com/yuri-moens/LadderLocator
For some reason, since the 1.6 launch, Changing the GUI completely screws up the ladder square locations. Anyone else having this issue? or is this only a problem with the ladder locater mod itself.
Not just your issue. Edited: Found the solution, delete your previous config.json file from mod's own folder and let next start of the game create a v1.6 compatible config.json from start. This mod wasn't working for me in v1.6 until I do this thing so hoping helps others as well.

Now it's just a matter of finding a color that is visible to ALL tile sets.
Thanks.
