Hmm. "Clint isn't an incel" sounds interesting, but I have another Clint narrative overhaul mod I'm trying out already. Personally my preference is for him to in fact be something of an incel and a complete loser and dumbass about it, just... in a slightly less creepy way, and with more dialogue about other things also?
Honestly, I've been shipping him with Emily since before the 1.1 update that made Emily and Shane marriage candidates. There's still a whole storyline of building up their relationship left in the game since then, it just doesn't go anywhere and explicitly cuts off at Emily's 8 heart event. I am trying to find mods that fix that :3

just a random commenter passing by...I like your idea for Clint! I think the idea of addressing his incel side instead of erasing it is interesting! you're totally right about the storyline feeling cut-off, it would be nice to have a mod that adds more to Emily and Clint.
Honestly, I think they could date and Emily would have fun in that relationship. It wouldn't go anywhere serious, Emily is not that sort of person, but I don't get the vibes of being all that intense about it from Clint either. You know he'd do whatever kooky thing she thinks up with her, let her dress him up, etc. It maybe wouldn't last, but it's imho something that deserves to happen.
This is something I plan on addressing in my future dialogue and cutscene expansion mod as I feel like how it was written in Vanilla is poorly done, Emily isn't aware of his attraction and he's possessive enough over her to get annoyed at her and you for becoming friends, it's especially worse if you get in a relationship with her, and if you have a divorce he relishes in it as an opportunity for him rather than feeling sympathy for Emily who he supposedly cares so deeply for. To me it reads as objectifying especially since he brings up wanting to be in a relationship with other women too, such as asking if Sandy is single and bringing up online dating. Which should be a sign that he isn't obsessive but he still obsesses over her as well, which just reads to me like seeing her as a prize. My edits are with the intention of keeping the endearing "loser" bits of him while getting rid of his more creepy lines, and I feel like him trying to become friends with Emily instead is a good substitute because tbh, I feel like if I were to make the feelings more mutual the relationship would probably still be unhealthy or at the very least, short-lived, as Clint is still ultimately completely friendless with no social life and Emily is very self sustained.
To me that's just uncomfortable and something that I want to address, therefore, the toggle for it in this mod. This mod is primarily to serve as a proof of concept, then I'm going to do an additional edit mod of a few other things, then with the coding knowhow I've garnered and expansion which will focus on building the characters more with new dialogue and cutscenes, besides Maru X Harvey, Vincent's crush, and Caroline's potential affair which I will still leave edited as I don't think those are something I want to redeem and/or expand on and would rather just retcon. Clint I think is not given the time to make him a redeemable character because the fact of the matter is he's possessive and jealous, even when you are max friendship with him and I think giving him more cutscenes and dialogue can show him actually learning, but for now, I have just done what's in my coding abilities.
And as just a side note, I don't think Clint being fat is inherently unattractive, I'm in the midst of a making portrait mod which will be a long ongoing projects bc of how much art needs to be made, I'm starting with a bachelorette rn and then will continue onto the other characters as I have time and learn to code it. The reason I bring it up is I am planning on having some "reimaginings" of characters if I feel like it, for example changing up their build a little or giving glasses, different textured hair, make up or facial hair, these will all be toggles, some admittedly for the aesthetic preferences of my friends and I. and again will take a while, and wouldn't be expected on release. I don't really plan on making a toggle to make Clint not fat, I don't think it detracts from him his appearance, and I really don't have a preference for physical body types as an ace person anyways, I like everyone. (and if bigger guys are your type expect some toggles when the mod comes ;) I meant what I said when I said I don't have body type preferences,[though don't expect it soon lol])

I have seen the mod diverse stardew Valley, it's not something I plan on recreating. I have a lot of respect of them and agree that Stardew should have more diversity however, I think when it comes to POC rep I'd rather offer to make portrait mods for modded POC NPCs my view is kinda just if you are creating a world and feel like there's not enough diversity, you should expand the roster, add that diversity, as then I feel like those characters stand out on their own instead of being a rehash, I have noting against POC edits but like, c'mon OC's are much more fun! and I'd like to support other mod creators if it's in my capacity.
I will however match up skin tones for overworld and portraits, giving Alex his tan and Demetrius his proper skin tone, as well as any others that come up. (though again don't expect the portrait mod anytime soon, I'm a fulltime college student and tend to get busy and sidetracked)
