Oh, I might have forgotten to change the mod ID for update checking. Doesn't break anything but is annoying. Thanks for letting me know. Will upload a fix tomorrow.
Well, it's just a continuation of the original mod to make it compatible with future versions.
There are also a couple of bug fixes and a new option to disable item consumption.
I removed the basic gems that add fire colors from the core mod. So it requires Content Patcher packs to actually do something now. One can be found in the mod description.
oh. i haven't notices any bugs while using the old one on 1.6. and i just assumed the changelog would only include changes for the mod that's on this mod page (i assumed there wouldn't be any changes listed since it's the first release. of "Prismatic Fire - Continued"). thank you for explaining.
There was another bug I've discovered: When a fire was already colored and you click again with the same gem, it still consumes it without changing anything.
Also there's a console warning from Generic Mod Config Menu that some parts of the code are deprecated and will break in the future. It's was just a matter of time.

Will be added today
You can set the Item ID that resets the fire to default in Config (ResetItemId).
Default is 388 (Wood).
The item will not be consumed.
