Like others, I'm here asking if you'd consider introducing the item categorisation and nightly sorting by category and priority from Better Chests. There's really nothing at all similar in any other mod I'm aware of, and it allowed me to set up an unprecedented deal of automation and organisation. The feature you introduced towards the end with the UI to manually assign categories or exclusions to chests was amazing. I am in fact still trying to use the last version of that mod, but it crashes insanely often when editing chest properties which is less than ideal. I really hope you reintroduce this feature to Ultra Organised Chests. The ability to make it so that my produce and machines would have their outputs put in the right place overnight by the sorting system, or make it so my egg chest remembered it was supposed to have eggs in it even after the mayo maker used them all, was damn revolutionary to my user experience.
Hello! I've found myself missing a function from your previous mod, Better Chests. It's the sorting by item categories or context tags function. I think it would mesh well with this mod if you were to add it back in. Either way, this mod is super helpful for how I like to play. Thank you!!
Help please. I cannot make this mod work, I don't know what I'm doing wrong... I've assigned chest priority but the items do not move/transfer from my lower priority chest to higher priority chests. Smapi does not log any error in this mod
I really appreciate everything you do, but it’s missing some pretty important features that kind of make this not really all that useful. For example all chests are just labeled “chest” or “big chest” so there is no way to identify which is which. Even if you have a mod that lets you name chests, they still don’t show unique names.
Yeah without thier names it's difficult to use, the time spent to identify the right one you could very well move the items manually.
Plus another concern I have is what does the "Move Items Modifier" do? Because the tooltip says "Click and drag while holding this key to move items", yeah but in which menu or use case makes sense? Because I normally can move items without holding any key, I'm not sure what does it means.
Hello, is this mod made for the Stardew Valley 1.6.15? I'm trying to use it on my 1.6.8 Stardew Valley and 4.0.8 Smapi and says it's no longer compatible. Sorry for the inconvenience and a big thanks for this mod!
This mod was only developed and tested in 1.6.15 so there are no guarantees it would work in earlier versions, but you can edit the manifest.json file to only require SDV 1.6.8 and SMAPI 4.0.8 to see if it still works.
Hey LeFauxMatt, I loved Better Chests (and still think it's still one of the best chest mods even when bugged and broken) and really appreciate you releasing its separate parts at least. Something I wanted to ask though, could you also release the craft from anywhere feature it had? I think that's the only feature that didn't have a proper replacement so I would love to see it as a separate mod. Thanks for the hard work!
Convenient Chests and Better Crafting both allow you to craft from nearby chests with a definable range. If using both, disable it in Convenient chests. If you want to be able to craft anywhere instead of a single screen, you may need to take your chests with you using Item Bags. The vanilla crafting interface, and the better crafting interface (and cooking for both) will pull from item bags. I havent come across anything else that works across all maps.
hey，LeFauxMatt,For the previous Better Chest mod, I heavily relied on the feature that allowed stacking items from my inventory into chests with one click. However, since this mod is no longer functional, how can I find an alternative mod? Could you update this feature someday in the future?
