For some strange reason, my wife keeps looking at your garnet image as a 'steak' or 'meat' and puts it in a food box without thinking when we're putting things away. I had to redo the garnet image to get her to stop. Completely silly, I know.
In case you or anyone else'd be interested in using my more symmetrical 'gem' looking garnet, I'll share it here.
In your picture example of a Ruby Resonance Tetrachord on the description page, you use ruby, amethyst, emerald, topaz to get 26.5% damage, 18.3% knockback, 16.7% speed, 13.8% resistance, magnetic and light. When I create one it only gives ruby, amethyst, emerald bonuses the same, 1.4 'defense', magnetic with no light. Have the rules changed?
Thank you for the clarification about the defense, and the ring does add a red lit area around me, but if my light radius is already greater, it doesn't add any light radius.
Heya, i just quickly wanted to ask if it would be possible to add a Config or something, so that one could change the strength of the magnetism from the Tretrad Chords? Because as the Infinity band is already pretty Lategame, in my Opinion it doesn't really make sense for it to have worse Magnetism with a Tetrad Chord than the Glowstone ring. Especially as magnetism can be pretty Important.
In my opinion, the game gets more boring the more "stuff" we consolidate. One of the goals of this mod was to remove the magnetism and light from the Iridium Band which made the Glowstone Ring completely obsolete. The Infinity Band is meant to be a combat-focused ring, and not an "everything" ring. For utility, I encourage you to make a regular combined ring with a Glowstone and whatever else you prefer, like maybe a Lucky Ring, and wear one of each. If you feel there aren't enough ring slots for that, then I'd recommend Wear More Rings.
I finally made my infinity band, and it's not quite behaving like I expected it to. I made a tertian triad with Aquamarine as the focus. I slotted in two Aquamarine rings, a Garnet ring, and a Jade ring. The modifiers seem good, but for some reason, the ring doesn't have the "Emits Light" property like I expected. The Ruby tertian triad pictured in the mod description has it, but mine doesn't.
In fact, I seem to have an anti-glow effect on me. There's a dark teal halo around my character.
Update: Seems like it's just a UI thing. I went into the config and disabled Colorful Resonances. That disabled the teal halo, and when I go into the cave I do see a light around me. The glow is there - it's just not displaying in the ring's info box.
The tooltip text was removed a long time ago because it was pretty useless. If there is resonance then there is light, so it's redundant. I was too lazy to update the images.
The light is weird but it is what it is. It's just a limitation of how the game handles colored lights.
Ah, gotcha. I didn't see the redundancy. Makes sense, I suppose.
On a related topic, I've noticed my magnetism seems weaker than it was when I was wearing the glowstone ring. Is the magnitude of the bonus effect dependent on the total resonance? Could I get a stronger magnetism and light if I changed the ring to a tetrad?
yo! would love to see implementation of, uh... *deep sigh* sus chords. i tried a few combinations in game and they weren't producing any of the funky effects like magnetism.
The system assumes all notes are equidistant from each other, like tempered tuning. This means there is no Major and Minor. It would be far too complicated and convoluted to implement. I'd need 11 notes in total to implement something like this, instead of only 7. By extension, Sus and Dim also don't make sense with only 7 notes.
All of the chords you see come about naturally from the superposition of resonances. The only exception is the Tertian, which I wanted to include because it's the most basic chord and I wanted to include this concept of "richness". And since there are no Major and Minor I had to hard-code some weird rules to make it work. I'd love to have full freedom to create more chords, but that would either mean creating 4 new gemstones and 4 new stat bonuses, or something else equally complex.
I might have even said this before on another one of your mods, but you do some astonishingly cool mods. This is amazing work. The combination of music theory and gemstones isn't one I would have thought of, but you start with some really simple principles and get some really complex and cool results. Thanks for making so many cool mods.
I love how complex this mod is. It scratches the same itch Applied Energistics did with Minecraft. Figuring out a system and then implementing my ideal version of it is just so satisfying.
At least... I thought I had it all figured out. I planned out my gems and even theorized a few alternatives, confirming my original plan was ideal. When I got to the top of the volcano, I realized I'd forgotten a very important step: I need a damn galaxy soul. My gut was wrenched, but my resolve is strong.
I will make my shiny magic music ring. Eventually.
And one more, the Garnet Nodes still seem to be very frequent (still way too frequent I think?). In the Mines below 80 most of the time I get more garnet nodes than gold nodes. Like 2-8 Garnet nodes per floor. Seems a bit much for me. The abundancy of Garnets also breaks the games balance a bit since they are pretty valuable at 300g. I went from floor 80 to 95 (just once) and got 37 Garnets, which equals 11.100g. SMAPI Log for reference: https://smapi.io/log/af81a3f8025a44c7a9d79c0e7e3ab8a6
Another thing, I haven't tested if the critical strike power actually changes with jade ring but the description of the jade ring is still showing 10% for me. SMAPI doesn't show errors or any other info when obtaining or equipping the jade ring in the Log but if you need it anyway, just let me know.
I know Version 1.1.1 was JUST uploaded, but i just wanted to start a new safe and instantly got an Error message after starting the new safe. The Error is refering to the WearMoreRings Mod. I didn't get that Error in the last version. Smai Log: https://smapi.io/log/74fc5388f43d48ca87c3b278b5305e42

1 defense is 10% resistance.
Resonance always gives light, so it doesn't need to be restated.
