Do you think adding containers (like the one provided by item bags) would make sense to be accepted as items that can be sold? I sometimes have duplicates and would like a better alternative to get rid of them instead of simply destroying with 0 money gained
I think I've included everything that I can with Content Patcher, which does have some limitations (you also can't put artifacts in the dropbox and some items -- like hats and some crafted items -- only sell for 0 gold). If I ever manage to figure out how to expand the options further, I'll definitely make it as inclusive as possible, including containers. Thanks for the suggestion!
I wonder what an organization that accepts donation would do with artifacts anyway
and some items -- like hats
that's strange, for a game that adds a deposit box for a secondhand donation center (or at least that's what I understand from the mod description) I guess it's a bit more difficult since hats don't have a category in-game? personal solution would be to check in-game category if the item fits the hat category then make it n*100g where n is the number of hats
Also since it's a shop, I feel like it's a bit too OP to make it count as a regular store and give the equal value of items sold since a lot of items can be sold there instead of waiting the next day like the base game deposit box, or take a walk to Pierre to sell items like crops and artisan goods :/ I agree that a lower amount of money should be given for each item My solution would be like before, count each item by their category and add a straight value to each item, then mail it to the player the next day (apparently coin, which when collected, that directly gives money exists in game) maybe flavor it by sending mail that comes from different company, each with their specialization, thanking you for the item your sent that they specialize in, one for any clothing, another for packaging food etc..
Definitely outside my current coding expertise, but I highly encourage you to give it a go if you know how to make it happen! Permissions are open; I just ask that you credit this mod if you release an alternate version of it. Thanks!
Hey, I really love the idea of this mod... Can't believe it hasn't been done yet but thank you for taking the time to do it.
Little problem though... It is not compatible with another mod that I find absolutely necessary... The Hardware store mod is non-negotiable for me and its in the same location as your drop box. Is there any chance you'd ever think about changing the location?
I didn't realize the Hardware Store was working again! Let me see what I can do. (Fair warning: I'm not great at Tiled and I have a lot on my plate ATM, so it'll probably take a while.)
I installed the Hardware Store mod and found that it only cut off half of the drop box, making it look like the drop box is behind the hardware store (which I actually love -- from a lore perspective, that makes far more sense than a random box by the side of the road). When I tested it, I could access the drop box, the hardware store and the vending machine, all without difficulty. Have you attempted to interact with the drop box and found it not working? Please let me know if that's the case -- otherwise, I'm going to consider this compatible as-is. Thanks!
Can't this be abused once you unlock catalogue? Just spawn some chairs or table from one of the catalogue and then sell them for money at the bus shipping bin?
What I love about Stardew Valley is that everyone can play the way they want to play. If someone wants to use this mod in tandem with a furniture catalog to give themselves endless gold, then I'm glad my mod is helping them enhance their preferred way to play :)
It does, as I play with both (and was playing with both when I took the screenshot above). Note that the shipping box is in the bus stop map, not any of the farm maps. You should see it immediately after entering the bus stop.
and ridgeside? I know where it should be but it wasnt there. i did add it after playing a couple weeks and not at the beginning of a save though. Does that matter?
That's very odd, as I'm currently playing with all of the major expansions and haven't had any problems. Can you provide your SMAPI log, please? Instructions can be found at https://smapi.io/log. Thanks!
oh wow!!! i was just thinking i wish there was a donation box or something where i can just put stuff, but i see it exists!! very nice, thank you so much~

Suggestion....
Option to set prices without having to list everything...
Purchase Price
Purchase Price -20%
Purchase Price -50%

Check Boxes to select what categories can be sold.
Keep up the good work! :)

Do you think you could add the trinkets to the objects that can be sold in this box ?
