Any balance suggestions/bug reports welcome! I intend for the competition to be fairly challenging, only completeable by a late game farm (without devoting 24/7 of your time to it). Let me know if you want a toggle to enable/disable the staleness mechanic, if the competition is too easy/too hard, or if you have ideas for new rewards/changes to existing ones.
KNOWN ISSUES/FUTURE FEATURES ROADMAP:
Make stashing fresh items into a container with its non-fresh equivalent works
Hi all, version 2.0.0 is released, with two new significant features: partial freshness, and competition presets! While I've made sure to test them thoroughly, please let me know of any bugs and issues, as well as your opinions regarding the balance of the new presets, and whether they are too easy/hard. If a modded item doesn't match the competition category you expect it to, let me know as well!
its hard to complete the aquaculture. who wants to fish 24/7 for 400/400 lake fishes or ocean fishes especially in late game? And speciality fish type are not balance: legendery fish just worth 6 score. With high difficult to fish rare fishes, its always have low chance to be hooked.
Would it be possible to add difficulty levels? Kind of similar to fame but from the start? I'm playing on Frontier Farm with SVE and Ridgeside and extra crops from mods, and now in summer year 2, I finished the competition by Summer 15. For big farms it would be great if we could toggle a difficulty, or ramp it up by season or year. I understand that fame does this to some extent, but the increases are pretty small. I was hoping to really have to change by normal play style and optimize what I'm growing to win.
Trigger action 'selph.FreshFarmProduceCP.ItemSoldForCompetition' has action string 'selph.FreshFarmProduce_ItemSoldForCompetition' which couldn't be applied: ERROR - ItemSoldForCompetition not called in response to BETAS' item sold trigger?
Would it be possible to exclude recently played competition presets? Three out of the four last seasons have been the Aquaculture one and even though this is most likely just really bad luck I really want to try the other ones. I did find out that if you restart the day the competition start you'll get a new random preset each time but it feels a bit "cheaty" as I could just reroll until I find one that suits me.
Edit: I'd also really like the option to disable the "selling items to shops contribute to competition" feature. even with BETAS installed. I play with Serfdom Taxes and that mods makes selling to shops tax exemted which makes the cometition a great way to discourage tax evasion.
This looks incredible, excited to give it a try. I understand if this would be too much to ask but could an option be made to have the competition run yearly instead of monthly? Like always in spring or even randomized as to what month it will occur?
I love the idea of them, but I know I'd trap myself in that loop if it becomes a monthly practice. I think having it once a year would make it serve as something to look forward to and something to shake up the schedule
If this would be a big lift or not something you're interested in doing, would you have any advice on how to implement that change?
Either way, thank you for the awesome mod and best wishes.
I can consider the idea (no promises though!). For the moment you can manually turn the competition on or off in the config; turning it off doesn't remove the competition but prevents new ones from starting, so you can turn it on on Spring 1, get the mail on Spring 2 and turn it off for the rest of the year.
Hi, i noticed that if u use both item bag and fresh farm produce, any item put on the item bag would get freshen so theres a soft incompatibility with both!
Yeah, it's unfortunately because of how item bags work (it doesn't save the item, just its name and no extra data like freshness level). Conpatibility would have to come from their end.
Something popped up in my log from this when I played through a day (I was checking the log due to another error). It didn't crash the game, so I'm not deeply worried but I thought I'd check. As far as I know I have all the prerequisites.
Hi, I am using the Buildable Farmers Market mod and I noticed that the items I sell through that are not counting to the competition, so I tried selling items to Pierre and it was the same thing, didn't count towards the competition. I have installed BETAS as recommend Also install Button's Extra Trigger Actions Stuff (BETAS); with BETAS installed items sold directly to shop will also count towards the competition. I was just wondering if I need to do anything else to make it work, Thanks

For now you can fix it by running
selph.FreshFarmProduce_AddSpecialOrder
in the console to add the competition to your quest log.https://smapi.io/log/31ce46b043da45ceb03da8ed7bb0314e

I've never had to share a log before so I hope I've done it right.
