Would it be cool if I made a patch for The Melting Pot to work with Even More Realistic Seasonal Shop Inventory (EMRSSI)? It’s an expansion of RSSI that adds randomized/limited shop stocks to mods for a more dynamic experience.
I’m still kinda new to this, so I’ll be coding it from scratch, any tips to make it easier would be super appreciated!
Yea, you can do that! I'm still waiting for SpaceCore to update though, Idk if you've read the bug reports but there seems to be a glitch with the spacecore code and I suspect its because SpaceCore hasn't updated. I haven't updated the mod because I want to make sure everything works.
I need a little help...I've been playing a hugely modded play through to which I have included this mod for more recipes...I'm also using the love of cooking mod as well...I've been to the desert, purchased all books, read all books, yet only a small handful of the recipes became active & every other recipe is still registering as ??? in my collection. Any ideas as to why? Ive been through the settings, I made sure all were selected to have all recipes but it still seems to be messing around :/
Any help would be appreciated ♥
Edit: Ok...So I used a campfire and found all recipes listed & can make every single one...I'm still seeing them as ??? in my collection list even though I have the recipes...Strange lol :3 I have them in the list/cookbook from love of cooking & once I have made a recipe from the melting pot, it then registers in my collection...Minor fault I guess, atleast I can still complete the food recipes for perfection via this method lol ♥
okay so I'm trying to cook a bunch of recipes and I'm not sure about others as i haven't tested but i know i can't cook the pad thai recipe for sure. some of the ingredients aren't registering in my inventory even though i have them in my inventory. My smapi isn't gving any errors. i just cant cook the recipe. i havent looked for any other recipes that i can't cook yet. Also just found out i can't make empanadas either
This sounds like a really nice mod, I really enjoy seeing more variety of recipes in the game, specially when they are based on real dishes, I have a couple of questions though:
1 - Is this safe to install mid save? 2 - Does this add new ingredients, like crops, fishes, etc, or do all recipes use only vanilla and cornucopia stuff? I have a few mods that add fishes and crops, like SVE and RSV, and I really don't mind repeated items, but I would like to know of possible conflicts.
Yea its okay to install mid save, I tested it for both new and old saves! And Yes? Sort of, The only "ingredients" that really get added, you just buy at Pierre or Willy. I didn't add anything you need to grow or find so people could just enjoy the food straightaway!
First time leaving a comment over here after trying out this mod for almost a whole Stardew season, I just have to say that I absolutely love the variety and art this mod provides. The extra ingredients in each store, the likes per person, absolutely LOVE the Diverse Stardew Valley compat built in, that was very sweet.
The only issue is that a lot of the recipes have the same stats in terms of stamina and health. I saw that you don't have much experience when it comes to the Content Patcher side of modding and that's totally valid! It's honestly the only issue I have with the mod, everything else is spectacular and you've done amazing work here! Bravo!
Thank you! I appreciate the kind words! <3 The CP side isn't the issue lol It's just because I don't do any of that content in SDV so I have to figure out the math on the way the game does health + energy for food. I kept it all the same due to the fact I had no idea people who do that content would use my mod for it! It's just taking me a while.
I am yet to see a recipe from this mod that would sell for more than 100g when dropped in the shipping box. The prices are very low, considering the amount of ingredients many recipes take. Take Kanga Pirau, for instance: - 1x corn: 55g -1x sugar: 50g -1x milk: 125g If I sell the ingredients separately, I get 230g. But this recipe would sell for 73g.
Not only that, also the energy or health this would restore. The individual ingredients restore as follows: - 1x corn: 25E/11H -1x sugar: 25E/11H -1x milk: 38E/17H By eating the ingredients I would get.. 88 energy, 39 Health. The dish restores 38 energy, 17 health.
The loss on value and on resources is too steep. I completely saw myself perhaps cooking some dishes from there to use as food to restore energy, but seeing things as they currently are, it doesn't return that much.
Oh! You want me to do the stats! I can't promise too much on the health/energy part as I don't do that content and I'm not in the SDV main discord to ask anyone who does. It'll take me a while but I'll update the sell prices for sure!

It's nice for immersion, tho.
