that is the plan! however i am absolute GARABGE at coding and honestly have no idea where to start :( i'm also struggling to come up with ideas for intriguing watermelon related recipes too. so far, all i've got is a watermelon smoothie, dried watermelon rind, and watermelon sparklers. the sprite work is easy for me (i ADORE doing pixel art!!!) i just. hit a roadblock every time when it comes to coding LOLOLOL

Some recipe ideas- watermelon salad/fruit salad, pan-fried watermelon, watermelon salsa, watermelon jelly. Hope it helps! This is such a cute mod that is helping to satiate my crop/recipe mod addiction and I'd love to see it grow when you can conquer the coding side of things!

Ah.  Dried watermelon is absolutely sensational.  Dried cantaloupe is almost as good.  If you get the chance to try them, or have a dehydrator...

When watermelon or cantaloupe seem dry or not as good, dehydrating it will transform it into something awesome that will keep a pretty long time.  Especially if stored in a refrigerator.

The rind can be pickled.  It's a sweet and spicy pickle.  Recipe starts with brining the cut-up rind, and then simmering in a super sweet syrup with spices like cinnamon.   This is something that I have every Thanksgiving.  Amazon has them.  They are absurdly expensive.

If you added pickled watermelon rind I would be so happy, even if it's in the game only.

hii!! thank you so much for the comment :3 i've never tried any dried fruit aside from bananas (yummy) and strawberries (gross) but it sounds interesting!! as far as pickled watermelon rind goes, i'm not sure how to go about it? since to pickle it it would have to be marked as a vegetable and i'm not sure it can be marked as both a fruit and vegetable? though there's probably some other work around lurking around somewhere (as a first time modder i'm almost too afraid to poke around anything XD). but! it's certainly an interesting idea. and since you seem knowledgeable, do you know of any interesting watermelon recipes? for version 1.1 or 1.2 i'd like to add in some watermelon recipes but i don't really know of any that a) sound appetizing and b) work with the other ingredients in the game. have a wonderful day with your wonderful watermelons!! :D

I'm with you on the dried strawberries.  My favorite dried fruit is pineapple, but watermelon and cantaloupe are right behind.

Really pickled watermelon is a lot like jam, with extra big pieces and a sweet spicy syrup.  Or like sweet pickles made from ginger, which I've had with several different Asian meals, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese.  You could get away with calling it jam, for sure. :)  Perhaps say something about it being a sweet spicy pickle. Maybe it's rather like a chutney?  I am not super familiar with that.

I don't know if I can post a link to a recipe or to ways to buy watermelon rind pickle online.  The biggest online retailer has two jars of a brand called Sanniti, 20 ounces total, for twenty bucks.  Making it at home got harder as commercial watermelons have been bred to have much thinner rinds than they used to have.    You can do the same kind of thing with apples and other fruits and vegetables to make a wide variety of pickled deliciousness. Famous chef Alton Brown's website has a recipe for these that looks easier than the ones I made several years ago. I'm not up for a project of this size anymore.  They are really beautiful.  They look like jewels with the slight hint of blush on one side of the cool green rind. If you can't find the link, let me know and I'll take the chance and post it here.
