Thank you for sharing. I wanted to provide some feedback after playing with your mod.
Do you think it's possible to add a category to fish roe? I noticed this particular type of item has not been touched or mentioned at all by this mod, so the category remains empty in Vanilla. They could be either simply "fish", "animal product" or a custom "fish roe" category, whichever one you think would work better.

Oh, I didn't even realize. Yes, those should absolutely have a category! Good suggestion

Roe seems like it should be an Animal Product to me, but I don't wanna mess up recipes to accidentally use it as like eggs or something. Hmm, lemme play with it

Next update will turn the non-aged Roe into an Animal Product.

I think Fish might mess with perfection. But as an Animal Product, it similarly lines up with eggs (chicken eggs are an animal product, fish eggs are an animal product). It also slightly buffs the ranger professions, as the bonus to sell prices for animal products will affect Roe too.

I would like to request a compatibility patch for Chicken Feed - a Poultry Diet Rework. This mod adds several new items that should fit well in the new "Animal Consumable" category.

As someone who loves to categorize and organize chests, I really liked this mod, the only thing that bothers me is that the mushrooms don't have their own categories, as I use other Mods that add mushrooms like Alchemistry and they are separated category.

    Thanks for the Mod. <3

Mushrooms do have their own category? It's Mushrooms - same text and color scheme Cornucopia uses

If there's a mod that adds mushrooms, but I haven't included a compatibility patch, nothing will change. I try to support as many popular mods as I can get around to, and take requests, if there's something you'd like me to include.

This is currently not the case with Vanilla mushrooms, from what I can tell. In the config.json, there is an option to choose the category between "vegetable" and "forage", which applies to all Vanilla mushrooms but Red Mushroom. I looked in the code, and for this particular object (420) there is an override setting to another custom category called "mushroom".
Is there a point to the config, then? Why not put all Vanilla mushrooms under this new category? Truffles could also be included here, as opposed to being an animal product.

If I missed red mushrooms in vanilla, that's a big that I can fix. I'll double check it's properly set regardless of which mods you may be using. I think Cornucopia affects this

The configuration value sets the underlying category for mushrooms, either Vegetable or Forage. This affects things like quests, recipes, machine inputs, etc. Some things only accept Forage, some things only accept Vegetable, etc. Like you can't make forage wine, but you can make vegetable juice, etc. There's also a ton of mods and machines where this makes a difference

Regardless of what you choose, the display text - a visual-only text description that has no impact on gameplay - will be Mushroom. This lines up with what Cornucopia does

I confirmed that Red Mushroom in Vanilla is properly set - both its underlying type (configured as either Forage or Vegetable based on the config value) and the visual-only change of the category to Mushrooms w/ the brown Cornucopia color.

If you're not seeing that, please re-read the mod description page and make sure you're not falling into one of either the limitations of the mod, and/or that your other mods are correctly configured. (examples: If you change the configuration mid-playthrough, existing items won't get updated. Make sure that you don't have any other mods that are trying to change Red Mushroom's display text or display text color)

I noticed that you modified Vanilla's bag based on the beta version of item bag, but I think you probably haven't tried adding a large number of mods. If too many mods are added, the same item will exceed the range that can be displayed on the screen. Therefore, you'd better think about how to improve.

Perhaps you can try to limit the range to vanilla through the recently updated filter

      Hmm, no thank you.

I'm assuming you're referring to the optional Item Bags files? In this case, I modified the vanilla item bags only in that I removed them, to be replaced with the Universal bags modded bags. Because that's what I preferred. It also doesn't use the beta ItemFilters setup, it uses the 3.0.11 supported ItemCategories, that the mod author graciously implemented. I have plans to update these to using the beta ItemFilters configuration, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

In either case, I won't be changing the setup or configuration. I have no plans on making vanilla-only bags, as I prefer bags that hold items by category, not by mod. I did notice that with a ton of modded items, the display gets overwhelming. But it works for my playthrough, and it likely works for many other folks' too. If it doesn't work for yours, that's a bummer. You can uninstall my modded bags and go back to vanilla. You're also free to use my modded bags but keep the vanilla ones as well.

I love this mod, thank you so much for creating it. I'm slowly going through my mods to re-categorize items in the same manner; it's just so satisfying. Here's an idea though: 'grains' category. I realized how many grains there really are when playing with Cornucopia and Joseph's seed shop and I think they warrant a category even more than herbs or spices.

Does hat count as a category? It does not show up when hovering an item

Also if a modded item was categorized incorrectly, would I have to take it to you or the mod author?
For example Button (from the mod More Mushroom) is a type of mushroom but the mod author made it so it's categorized as forage, even though red mushroom are categorized as mushroom thanks to your mod

another example would be items brought from nature in the valley (and its sub-dependency) that brings wildlife creature but are considered forage and added to artisan machines

I haven't done any classification of clothing, or anything outside of basic objects. So hats, shirts, pants, weapons, rings, etc are all untouched. I could give that a try at some point though.

As for modded items, I'd need to write a compatibility patch to reclassify any modded items to follow this mods rules. The currently supported mods are listed in the description tab.

Hey Vegas!  Love what you've been doing!  I use a bunch of your mods and love them all.  Been watching but real life got in the way, lost my computer (it finally died) so I had to redownload EVERYTHING.  Took almost six months to refind it all but I've been slowly rebuilding my Stardew.  I'm compiling a list of items for you of items that don't have categories but I have to find their mods first (Rye Flower, Owl Carving, Fancy Blanket, JoJa (ticket), Butterfly Powder, Brazilianite Node, Clinchumite Node, Labradorite Node, Lavender Quartz Node, Rutilated Quartz Node, Full-Moon Jewel) but I noticed that there are still several from the main game that still don't have a category:  Drum Block, Flute Block, all of the Chests, all of the rarecrows and the scarecrow.  I think they would all benefit from being craftables maybe or are all these part of the Big Craftables category that you mentioned that can't be changed?  Good to be (almost) back :)

      Glad you're enjoying my mods!

Correct, those items you mentioned in the base game are craftables, and I can't change their type because of a limitation in SpaceCore (and, I suspect, a limitation in the API of the game in general). I'll double-check the drum block and flute block, I don't know if those are objects or big craftables. But chests, scarecrows, and a handful of others I'd love to update (staircases, machines, etc) I can't do anything about.

"Butterfly Powder" is from the 1.6 update.  Is it a "Big Craftable"?  It's not craftable, used in any bundles, quests or tailoring.  It can be used in dyeing but it's mainly used for removing a pet from the farm and is bought from Krobus. :)

As for the other 3, those are from mods not currently integrated with/supported by BIC. I will consider this a request, though, and add them to the list to include for compatibility.
