I'm going to be pausing animal compatibility requests for now, because I'm working on one last major update that will add a dedicated C# component that will make this mod automatically compatible with all Coop animal mods, turning all of them into dirt foragers that doesn't eat grass outside (aside from Rabbits and Silk Moths since in my opinion those are thematically grass eaters). Building compatibility requests are still welcome and needed.
The new update with the C# component is expected to be released with SDV's 1.6.9 update, which may still be a few weeks away, so I appreciate your patience!
Surprise, it's done now! Please make sure to delete the existing folder before installing the update, because of the new C# component changing the mod's folder structure. You can back up your config.json file though if you don't want to lose your config, and put it in the CP component folder
Not sure if you're still actively working on this, but is there any chance for compatiblity Immersive Coops? The mod looks fantastic btw, great design and balance.
Oh, I misunderstood the part from your description about compatibility and deluxe coops. My bad lol. Thanks for the quick reply, very excited to try this out.
The hopper in my coop still gives me hay when I go to manually fill their food. I tried disabling all the mods that might be conflicting or touch my coops, but haven't been able to narrow down what is causing it. Just so I don't go completely insane, can you confirm that with this installed the coop hopper should dispense chicken feed right?
Unfortunately this would require setting up mixed feed buildings (ie make the Barn serve both Feed and Hay), which is complicated both from a player and a mod author's perspective. I don't expect this to change any time soon, my sincere apologies!
i have the extra ingredients from cornucopia toggled on for the premium feed but the recipe sometimes doesn’t change. the other day it was showing the extra ingredients in my crafting menu but today it was just the regular recipe.
You might remember that I asked about the aviary mod by silvermoonchan during the earlier stages of the mod? I have that built on my paradise island (market town custom map) and the animals aren't fed. I only have coop animals in it and tried to remove teh autofeeder in case it just didn't know what to put down. manually feeding them doesn't work either. I reported that issue over at the aviary mod's section too.
I hope you can figure something out and as you mentioned alreay, it's fine when both animal categories eat the same thing in the end as long as they eat something >.<
EDIT Okay, I think I found the problem. In case someone else has it to: Set the interior of the aviary to vanilla. Sry, for bothering you, zombifier!
Hello! I LOVE this mod!!! the fact that chickens eat hay in vanilla was one of my biggest pet peeves. I was wondering though, if there is a way to make it so that dinos eat grass but other poultry don't? I like the idea of the dino being a herbivore who feeds on plants. I'm pretty good at editing Jason files so if it's possible i could probably figure out how to do this. also, does this mod impact the Visit Mount Vapius mod? they have geese, and I think another poultry that live in barns because they are too big. i know this mod took al lot of work and I want to say thank you for all your hard work!
Hi, I'm having an issue with the deluxe barn's autofeeder and poultry feed conflicting. I am able to remove the poultry feed from the silo (combo silo) however I cannot remove or put hay into the hopper within a deluxe barn. If I remember, I was able to do so with the smaller barn sizes just fine. Silo is set to 480 capacity and is full on hay. Extra Animal Configs is up to date.
[LOG] anything that's listed as being needed to be updated I've put off as they're all manifest updates (or I'm not using them and just haven't turned the mod off)
Even when they weren't completely full I couldn't add any to it (such as a day after rain and the autofeeders had to top up the trough slots again and I hadn't scythe'd any)
is it? I've never had an issue removing hay from the hopper when the slots were full as far as I remember 🤔 maybe I should stop dropping mid playthrough a bunch of times lol either way I'll have a new silo built so I'll see if I can grab some then when its not completely full
Hello! Thank you so much for this amazing mod, I absolutely love the depth and immersion it adds to animal care! If it's not too much trouble, I have a question. Would you ever consider making getting chicken feed from scything grass an option that can be turned on or off in config? I have a mod that makes scything grass not give you hay as a way to make gameplay more challenging, and I would love if I could turn off the option for it to give chicken feed, too. If you can't, though, I completely understand! Thank you again for this great mod!
I can add a config toggle in the next update! But in the mean time, if you want a quick fix and is comfortable editing files you can open [CP]ChickenFeed/Data/objects.json, scroll to the bottom and change BaseChance from 0.0625 to 0.

appearance: yes, it should be compatible.
You can scroll down to KYRAKI's post. I quoted zombifier's answer.
I wish you a happy new year.

As for geese/etc., because they are barn animals and thus hay eaters I decided to keep them grass eaters.

As for pulling hay, are the hay troughs full? You need at least 1 empty spot, which must be removed with a bomb. This is vanilla behavior.
