Are you tired of killing slimes for Mayor Lewis? Do you think you might scream if you have to collect one more copper ore for Clint? This mod unlocks hidden game code allowing for a greater variety of quests, and includes the ability to configure the types you want to see.
Full list of possible quests (including those previously hidden):
- Item Delivery (Every villager: crops, forageables, fish, minerals, metal bars)
- Gathering (Clint: copper, iron, gold, coal; Robin: wood, stone)
- Fishing (Willy, Demetrius)
- Slay Monsters (Lewis, Demetrius, Wizard)
- Mines 1-39: Green Slime, Rock Crab, Duggy
- Mines 40-79: Frost Jelly, Skeleton, Dust Spirit
- Mines 80+: Sludge, Ghost, Lava Crab, Squid Kid
All items should be obtainable within the current season, where applicable.
Install
- Install the latest version of SMAPI.
- Download this mod and unzip it into Stardew Valley/Mods.
- (optional) Run the game once with SMAPI to generate the config file, then configure desired options in Stardew Valley/Mods/HelpWantedQuestFixes/config.json.
- Play the game using SMAPI.
How to use
The generated config file has several options for use.
- AllowShallowMineQuests (default: "true"): Allows Slay Monsters quests from all levels of the mine, not just your deepest depth reached.
- ChanceOfQuestPerDay (default: "65"): The percentage chance a quest will be offered on any given day. Default value taken from the game code.
- CategoryChancePercent: The percentage chance for availability of each quest type (adding up to 100 total). Default values are taken from the game code.
- ItemDelivery (default "62")

- Fishing (default "15")
- Slay Monsters (default "12")
Compatibility
Works with Stardew Valley 1.3. Not tested in multiplayer, but it likely needs to be installed for the host as well as each farmhand who wants to use it.
