An absolute must-have mod. My only complaint is that I built a tiny coop next to my house to use as a shed, moved all my chests in there, and realized this mod can't access those... Any way to get past this?
Hey there, I don't have any issues with crashing and overall this mod works great The only thing is after I got it working I realized it's not compatible with Farmhouse Extended http://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/192/?
Not that I'm surprised, I just didn't think about it much until I had several chests in the basement and had transferred almost everything before I realized I can't access those chests down there or in the attic. So, I've always wanted to get more into how mods are actually made, and thought I would at least take a look at the code to see if I could possibly figure out how to add the chests in the basement or attic somehow even if it wasn't likely... but since the limit of my programming experience is basic JavaScript, the most I can say it that although it's a different language it doesn't look completely foreign to me LOL. Is this written in Java BTW?
After looking at a thread with others suggesting improvements, I'm guessing this would take some time for you to add also. But just a thought if it's possible to make this compatible with mods that add other rooms in the Farmhouse. I'm glad that this mods exists at all though, I feel a bit greedy that I want to be able to shove all my chests in the basement to keep everything else tidy.
Eh... not Java, but C#? Just curious, I've never actually decompiled anything to begin with... I was hoping adding chests in the basement/attic (purely for my own use obviously) would be easier than it sounded :p
I've seen a couple people reporting crashes and you have stated there should be a new version this weekend but I figured I would throw my situation in the pot as well. Game version- 1.06, not sure why its not 1.07, have current steam version and all but doesn't seem to be an update available. SMAPI Version- 0.40.0 Mods- I use several, but the incident is only with AccessChestAnywhere (ACA) . I have all uninstalled except for this.
When I press either the Hotkey 'B' or 'RB' on my Xbox controller, which is linked to 'B', It immediately crashes my game. I am unsure how this issue came to be because I have been using that mod, as well as dozens of cosmetic mods and others in my mod folder and haven't had an issue. Played most of yesterday just fine until around midnight EST. I've completely uninstalled SDV, deleted all files related to SDV, then reinstalled everything so it is as identical to default as possible, and the issue persists with only ACA and the SMAPI game loader. The previous version of ACA strangely works fine however. I have also encountered an issue now where if I go down a staircase in the Mines the game screen seems to break, goes black but music continues. I am unsure if this is related to the mod, SMAPI or something else. I will add a Text file of the error messages shortly to my comment.
Regardless I do love your mod, When you restrict on a personal level how often you use it the game maintains some difficulty. I play on a Hardcore play through which is available on Nexus. ACA keeps the challenge and difficulty but is always an option and is extremely useful. Great work thus far and good luck in your next release and future mods!
So as a bit of an update I think I don't need assistance any longer? No idea what I've done but it seems to be fixed? and not? I decided to once more purge my computer of everything Stardew Valley related, all Nexus downloads etc. Reinstalled the game, Made a base Backup copy of everything, and tried a few combinations of Mods.
SMAPI 0.40.0 + AccessChestAnywhere 1.1 = This previously was the combination that caused the instant crash when pressing the ACA hotkey via keyboard or Xbox 360 controller. After the purging, This works perfectly normally. SMAPI 0.40.0 + AccessChestAnywhere 1.0 = This previously worked but I would still experience crashes during certain events such as applying wallpaper. SMAPI 0.39.7 + AccessChestAnywhere 1.1= This previously worked fine before the purging, afterwards still continues to work. Didn't play long enough to find any crashes. SMAPI 0.39.7 + AccessChestAnywhere 1.0 = Lastly this worked before the purge, as well as after. Again didn't play long enough to find any crashing events.
In the end I still have no clue what the issue was. I had played the game for hours with zero issues last night, added a couple cosmetic mods like animal design changes and tested a few Housing design mods (outside appearance only). After this the incidents began, never altered or even accessed the Mods folder or ACA folder/files.
In regard to the Mine crashes, again I have no idea. This issue is persisting, but it occurs with 0 mods and nothing but the base download game files. A second profile I have made weeks ago is able to descend the mines with no issues. I can only assume the Profile I have been playing has somehow become corrupted or broken in some way. In the end this sucks but is not related to your mods it would seem. Apologies if i caused any confusion haha. Hopefully my next new file will stay healthy and I can continue to enjoy your mods
xD, yeah... as i stated in the SDV official thread, there's something I've missed that might be critical on future game updates and/or SMAPI updates... i think that's whats causing the crashes and i need to find a way to get around it, i have already found the way to do it. But again, as i said in my SDV thread, i haven't have much time in my weekdays to work on this. summer started, new costumers. tired everyday and had to sleep right away when i get home. i will try and try again to squeeze this in my tight schedule and hopefully will have a release as soon as possible.
The update has been delayed. Something came up last weekend,yesterday. I had to come to work. And slept whole afternoon. I made a github repo though so you guys can see where am I now. I promise the update should be done by this weekend.Once again sorry for this.
I have random crashes when using this mod. I originally noticed it when using the Machines Auto Push and Pull items mod, so I disabled that one and all was good. Now seemingly randomly, I'll pull an item from a chest, if the item falls on a slot that is empty and what im currently selected on, so it appears in my hands above my character's head, I'll exit with "B" then go to change what I'm selecting or try to re-arrange my inventory and the game exits on its own. Very frustrating when it happens after I just finished all my morning chores lol. Amazing mod though, when it doesn't do this (which unfortunately has been more and more common the past couple of days) it's so helpful to not have to carry everything for gifting the townsfolk! A huge help. I have the most up to date Stardew Valley version and SMAPI version SMAPI-0.40.0, and running SDVMM Version: 1.6e1 if that information helps as well.
Yeah. I think its because I've been using my own item list to get items on chest. I need to use the chest class itself and its methods to transfer items. This way, it will be like your beside the chest itself opening it. So it will be compatible to any mod that deals with chests.
It's all speculations for now until I finish recoding the mod. Then we'll get to test it and hopefully will solve all current and future issues. By hopefully, I mean I'm absolutely sure this was the mods downside. I remember when i was coding version 1.1, i was pretty sure that it will not have any issues. XD, boy was i wrong. I bet after i released 1.2 it will have whole another problem. Sigh...well thanks anyway, for the support. The next version should be done by this weekend.
i know you are working on the compatibility error with automation CJB but when you fix it we will be able to put our items on the chest next to anymachine to make automation work or we are just no going to see any of those chest?? becouse i like the idea to fuse this 2 mods to make a lot of meltin and wine production
i got the game crashed/closed when i press the hotkey Bytheway i thought that it was automation mod like the guys on the comments below but i delted it and still crashing when i press b on the game. When i press the b without your mod the console show up like a list of the items, you will see a screenshot and a crash log. And then i tryed without any mod but the AccesChestAnyWhere and Still crashing when press the B so i think its a problem of SMAPI 0.40. Almost forgot when the folder of mods is empty dont show up that kind of list when i press the B

I'm guessing the version you got is the GOG version. There's a couple of guys who asked me to fix this on the official forum. I'm currently working on a compatibility that should fix all future problems including this particular issue. As I said before I'm doing this only as a hobby, so the next release will get released by next weekend if not tomorrow. The release will also include new features like the item searching, whitelists and/or hot key configurations for controllers and option toggles.
no i hadnt that version but thanks for saying i had a steam pirate version, and guess what? i change to GOG version and that is on 1.07 so its better, and it work perfectly with aaall the modlist, AMAZING Thanks a lot. Also all this features that you mention sound AWESOME.
so it was problem whit the version of the game or just the steam pirate version in 1.05 is the one that does not work but im going to go with that GOG version thanks man

since the newest update sometimes it wont let me put certain items into the boxes. when i go to the actual boxes and open and sort them afterwards it works.
Interesting. Steam version? Smapi version? There some code cleaning to do. Can you tell me what exactly did you do so I can reproduce the problem later tonight and I you got any errors in the console?

I am unsure how this issue came to be because I have been using that mod, as well as dozens of cosmetic mods and others in my mod folder and haven't had an issue. Played most of yesterday just fine until around midnight EST. I've completely uninstalled SDV, deleted all files related to SDV, then reinstalled everything so it is as identical to default as possible, and the issue persists with only ACA and the SMAPI game loader. The previous version of ACA strangely works fine however. I have also encountered an issue now where if I go down a staircase in the Mines the game screen seems to break, goes black but music continues. I am unsure if this is related to the mod, SMAPI or something else. I will add a Text file of the error messages shortly to my comment.
Regardless I do love your mod, When you restrict on a personal level how often you use it the game maintains some difficulty. I play on a Hardcore play through which is available on Nexus. ACA keeps the challenge and difficulty but is always an option and is extremely useful. Great work thus far and good luck in your next release and future mods!
SMAPI 0.40.0 + AccessChestAnywhere 1.1 = This previously was the combination that caused the instant crash when pressing the ACA hotkey via keyboard or Xbox 360 controller. After the purging, This works perfectly normally.
SMAPI 0.40.0 + AccessChestAnywhere 1.0 = This previously worked but I would still experience crashes during certain events such as applying wallpaper.
SMAPI 0.39.7 + AccessChestAnywhere 1.1= This previously worked fine before the purging, afterwards still continues to work. Didn't play long enough to find any crashes.
SMAPI 0.39.7 + AccessChestAnywhere 1.0 = Lastly this worked before the purge, as well as after. Again didn't play long enough to find any crashing events.
In the end I still have no clue what the issue was. I had played the game for hours with zero issues last night, added a couple cosmetic mods like animal design changes and tested a few Housing design mods (outside appearance only). After this the incidents began, never altered or even accessed the Mods folder or ACA folder/files.
In regard to the Mine crashes, again I have no idea. This issue is persisting, but it occurs with 0 mods and nothing but the base download game files. A second profile I have made weeks ago is able to descend the mines with no issues. I can only assume the Profile I have been playing has somehow become corrupted or broken in some way. In the end this sucks but is not related to your mods it would seem. Apologies if i caused any confusion haha. Hopefully my next new file will stay healthy and I can continue to enjoy your mods
It's all speculations for now until I finish recoding the mod. Then we'll get to test it and hopefully will solve all current and future issues. By hopefully, I mean I'm absolutely sure this was the mods downside. I remember when i was coding version 1.1, i was pretty sure that it will not have any issues. XD, boy was i wrong. I bet after i released 1.2 it will have whole another problem. Sigh...well thanks anyway, for the support. The next version should be done by this weekend.
becouse i like the idea to fuse this 2 mods to make a lot of meltin and wine production
but i delted it and still crashing when i press b on the game. When i press the b without your mod the console show up like a list of the items, you will see a screenshot and a crash log. And then i tryed without any mod but the AccesChestAnyWhere and Still crashing when press the B so i think its a problem of SMAPI 0.40. Almost forgot when the folder of mods is empty dont show up that kind of list when i press the B

so it was problem whit the version of the game or just the steam pirate version in 1.05 is the one that does not work but im going to go with that GOG version thanks man
