I think it no longer works for 1.5 :( it was my favourite Greenhouse, so i'm sad but thank you for the fun you gave me while it worked! I hope everyone is safe and sound with you!
Hey, i just tried the ALittleBiggerGreenhouse (Content Patcher) file it loaded with no problem and i moved the greenhouse. Which file were you using that didn't work?
Rename it to something like greenhouseOriginal or make a copy of the original file and save that copy somewhere on your computer. Or download the CP version of the greenhouse (with the CP) and the program will do that for you.
All you need to do is download a WinRar or WinZip to unzip the file and install! It's not complicated at all and takes less than a minute. All files uploaded to Nexus are in .Zip form because it compresses the file size and it's easier to upload and download.
hey friend! are you trying to use the Content Patcher (CP) or the classic XNB file manual replacement method? CP is relatively new and is a LOT easier to use, so you're not manually replacing files or making your game crash if more than one of your mods is incompatible with one another. there are good guides on the wiki: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Index -- since it seems like it's your first time with mods, I think CP is better for you.
.rar files are a type of compressed file that makes a bunch of bigger files smaller, so it's easier to transfer/download them. compressed files are "zipped" into a folder and normally can't be opened or activated for use until you "unzip" them and have the full, uncompressed file to use. if your computer doesn't have WinZip (default software for Windows PCs), you can find lots of free ones online -- I use PeaZip, not for any specific reason, but just because it's what I've been using for years and don't have a reason to change. (one plus is that there are no ads and it's straightforward/easy to understand how to use it!)
your steps will be: (0. read all about modding Stardew on the wiki! there is some help on Youtube too, especially if English isn't your first language. https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Index) 1. find a compression software like WinZip so you can work with .rar files (and all the other types of compressed files) 2. find the location on your computer where your Stardew game is (for Windows, it'll eventually get you to "YOUR PC" > "YOUR C DRIVE" (C:) > Program Files > Steam > steamapps > common > Stardew Valley). you'll need to access the files bc in order for mods to work, you'll run Stardew through SMAPI's Modding API instead of the default game, and copy all the mod files you unzip into the Mods folder; neither the SMAPI Modding API nor the Mods folder will be there just yet! find the folder and send a shortcut to your desktop or your general documents so it's easier to find later. 3. download the correct version of SMAPI (if you're playing through Steam you'll have the fully up to date/current version of Stardew & won't have any problems getting the right version of SMAPI) & follow instructions for install https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2400 4. download Content Patcher & follow instructions for install https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/1915 5. download the mod(s) you want to use here on Nexusmods, use your compression software to unzip them, and follow any instructions to move the necessary files into the Mods folder. remember you'll be able to find the folder through step #2. I suggest also bookmarking all the Nexusmods pages for your mods and carefully organizing the files on your computer in a safe place so you don't get confused (lol! I have almost 30 mods right now so I need it for sure). DON'T download your mod files directly into the Stardew folder located through step #2. anywhere else is fine, in your general documents or whatever.
i just completed the greenhouse bundle and tried to plant my first crop only none of the tiles will accept seeds(only using vanilla seeds btw), not sure what i did wrong as i followed the instructions
Well I have no idea why it doesn't let you plant crops. You can try removing my mod and test if it will let you plant in vanilla greenhouse and then overriding the vanilla grenhouse with my Main File greenhouse, just don't forget to backup the original greenhouse. I usually just rename it.
This is so satisfying! The way we couldn't cover the whole area without running our sprinklers off the dirt was annoying. And I absolutely love the dedicated areas for crops/trees in the next room. Good job!
